The mounting holes will allow water to enter and the only things safe from fire would be what is stored in the small pouch included. I suggest buying a larger fireproof/waterproof bag to store inside. There is no insulation in the walls that would protect from fire.

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas. He loves all things "safes." I am sure he is going to love it and the price was just right.

This safe is not waterproof. Or fireproof. It does have a document bag that is described as fireproof. I purchased it as a "Warehouse" item - in other words, someone returned it. It cost $115, it locks and can be opened either with a key or a digital numeric code. Because of the price, and the fact that it beats keeping stuff under the mattress, I initially thought against returning it. But l slept on it an decided that for what us basically a cheap filing cabinet with a heavy door, that was presented in a misleading way - pictures of flames engulfing the safe - l am returning it. I will put the refund toward a certified fire-and waterproof safe that does what it is supposed to do.

Mine showed up already scraped up. Box was fine, the packing corners they use are a hard plastic. It's made of steel but no insulation, so no real protection from fire. It might not melt the safe, but it wont protect anything in the safe from fire damage. The lock on the built in lock box is not aligned correctly so I have to leave it unlocked to get it to close all the way. The main lock is ok. Works like it should. I believe the lock bars are ok and would be hard to break or cut, but the metal the safe is made out of looks like it could just be bent out of the way with a few tools. Its also not completely water proof. The seams are welded, but the door is'nt sealed. Bottom line, Its scratched up and not as strongly built as i hoped, but if you secure it right, most thief's wont be able to get in. I also bought some fire proof pouches for paper money and documents so that should take care of the fireproof thing. For under 230, its not bad for the size. would i buy it again ? if i only had 230 bucks i would. but if i had 240 i wouldn't.

Hello, I need your help. I bought this safe a couple months back. I just now tried to open it but it was locked and I can’t seem to find instructions anywhere to get into the safe. I don’t have the code nor any instructions of any kind. Would you be able to tell me how to get into the safe and send me instruction manual and/or the code?Very much appreciate your help. Although it looks nice and is the perfect size, without this basic stuff (code & instructions) the safe useless and takes up space.Please help!

The handle moves a quarter turn. Feels like it's already broken.

Followed the instructions to program the code and never worked. I did it at least 10 times. Got another brand and worked right away on the first attempt
