the licence was lost in 2010 - but it still gives a good indication and remember this thing was a legal DB meter until a few months ago. Adequate for personal use - your noice officer will have more sophisticated and expensive products

The only reason that i particularly bought this particular item over other's was specifically because it clearly states in the Specifications that it's setting's were A. 0.0 Db to 100.0 Db & B. 30.0 Db to 130.0 Db. With setting A.being a setting on no other advertised anywhere.THIS IS I BIG FAT LIE, THE ACTUAL RANGE STATES UPON THE UNIT ITSELF A. 30.0 TO 100 Db & B. 60.0 TO 130 Db.THE BIGGEST PROBLEM BEING THAT IT DOES'N F######G WORK PROPERLY ANYWAY. IT STILL REGISTER'S 75+ Db. IN A VACUM CHAMBER.The reason i am so pissed off about it is firstly because i am a scientific engineer & when i purchase an item it is because i have a particular purpose in mind. Second to this is that i have emphacema, i am awaiting open heart surgury & i cannot leave the house to return this pyle of junk back for a refund. i have no visitors who can do this for me. Works well

I bought this one to check various equipments. The results were so surprising that I borrowed a sound caliber B&K and this removed doubts: this device is 8 to 9 dB lower than what it should be. Which is huge and far from what it claims (+-1.5dB@94dB/1kHz).Slow mode is awkward: very, very slow. Where one could expect averaging over 1s (1/8s for fast mode).Some tips: internal compoments VR4 and VR5 make it possible to tune results for Low and High modes separately.I have another sound level meter, which is basic and analog (very similar to the one sold in Amazon market place): this one proved to be incredibly accurate when checked with the B&K.See comments on amazon . com and you will be convinced not to buy this.
