How it works
Here is what you need to know on how to use this. Some PC's BIOS may not have "Recognize Floppy" turned on or as an option. However, if you look in Device manager in your control panel under "Floppy Drive", you will see it there. You will not need to seek a driver. The drive will default to drive "A". So, open windows explorer and click C:\. Replace "C" with "A". It will look like this, A:\. Make sure a disk is inserted. As you rotate thru your disk collection, press "F5" to refresh the folders. Some people may refer to this as "Old School" but this was common operating knowledge back in the day and cutting edge 23 years ago. Enjoy.

How I got it to work with windows 11
When I plug it in: it spins, flashes a:/, buy it then dissappear.I then (with the drive still plugged in) right-click on desktop, new, shortcut, browse, choose the floppy drive.This allowed it to work ONCE. I was able copy and even write.But after I unplugged it can't find it.

Great purchase
I decided to move music from 750 CDs to a thumb drive and needed and external drive to do that job. Wintale's drive connects seamlessly and waits to move data quickly. I am done with the transfer but keep this drive nearby, it works so well for a modest price.

Plug and Play!? I don't think so.
This device sucks. At least for me. I was hoping to transfer vintage DOS/Windows 3.1 software to floppies from my laptop to my DOS/Windows 3.1 computer. Not happening... Not only does the laptop not recognize the USB floppy drive, it makes a terrible, extremely loud grinding noise when I put a disk in it.

I needed a way to access 3.5" floppy discs from a previous computer and this worked nicely.

It worked
Old .jpg files were read on a MacBook pro running Sedone 14.2.1. The thing worked as it was supposed to. I wish that after retrieving them, the files were actually with viewing, but that's not the reader's fault. It did just fine.,
