I use this as a countertop compost bin and it's amazing. I use a compostable bag in it, the ones the council recommends, and it fits the bin perfectly. The slanted lid makes it easy to open, even with messy hands and holding a cutting board, but it's still sturdy and doesn't fall over. The lid can be taken off for cleaning and both parts go in the dishwasher, making it super easy to clean. It's large enough so we don't have to change bags constantly and they can get filled up, meaning I don't feel like I'm wasting bags, but often enough for it to not get smelly. It's also small enough to fit on the countertop and it looks sleek enough to keep out, much better than the smaller brown bins the council provides.

I used to have an open make-up/medicine bin on my dresser until my kittens found it! I wanted a bin with a lid and was so pleased to see this design. It is sturdy with a removable lid, a lovely shape and with plenty of room inside. I think it looks like an object of art and not just a bin. It is slightly bigger than I guessed, but I am actually pleased with this. I'm probably going to purchase a few for different locations including the kitchen because it is very easy to clean. Love it!

This is a smart, well made counter top waste bin. I use it as an alternative to a knock box for my espresso machine. It is a good size that doesn’t need emptying too often but not so large that it dominates the work top. My only criticism would be that, when opening the lid, any condensation that forms on the inside of the lid runs out of the back of the container. I have remedied this by putting some kitchen roll between the hinge points which seems to do the job.

I bought this for my utility room countertop (mainly for tumble drier fluff and new clothe’s lable). It’s sturdy, good size, shape and colour. I’d definitely recommend it 😊

I use this for keeping the firelighters for our stove and it’s great for that as it keeps it neat and tidy.

I wanted a small worktop bin for teabags. This was a lovely design, very pleasing to look at, lovely colour BUT too big for the desired use. Would be more suitable as worktop food waste for veg peelings etc. So reluctantly had to return and purchase a different product. If a smaller size was available, would definitely have bought it.

I wanted a bin for my kitchen counter top for used tea bags and odd bits when topping and tailing veg etc. It's a perfect size for that but would be too small to cope with whole cabbage leaves or broccoli stalks. I line the bin with a bag so I don't have to keep washing it after every trip to the compost heap. A good purchase.

Started composting this year and wanted something for countertop storage.PROS: Pleasing color - perfect size - Easy lift lid - lid angled forward for easy use.CONS: Lid comes off easily due to plastic nub on left & right - Doesn't block any odor so onions/garlic or other strong smells.

Our city now requires us to put food scraps in compost rather than trash, and I've been avoiding it for a year but finally decided to do my civic duty, for the city and the environment. To make things easy, I bought this little bin. It is really well designed as it has a wide mouth that is tilted forward so you can easily play basketball with vegetable scraps as you're chopping them. You can also keep the lid open, which makes it easy. I did not want a bin that had a lid you had to lift off — where would you place the lid then? I bought compostable bags here at Amazon and use them to line the bin, which makes throwing it all away so easy. It really is a glorified plastic container, but it makes composting fun!

The lid closes tightly on its own by gravity creating an airtight space for the content. Easy to carry and open with only one hand. Highly practical for the handling of messy food remnants.Was sent without the lid. Amazon refused to send the missing part. Amazon refused to send another one with a lid. After all the time and energy spent for finding this specific item I had to pack it and hunt for a company that would return the parcel to Amazon and find again from another provider.
