Solid box, but root is a deal breaker for me.
It's unfortunate that so many of these things come rooted. What's worse is that none of them say that they're rooted. Even worse still is that there's no practical reason for root on a tv box. Root does, however have some unfortunate side effects. One of those side effects is that most TV apps like PS Vue, HBO Go, etc won't run on rooted devices. What's really tragic is that this thing works pretty well. The interface is a bit annoying and nowhere near that caliber of the Nvidia Shield with Android TV 8 installed, but it's responsive.The remote uses a usb dongle, which in turn uses up one of the usb ports which just seems odd for a device that was built as a tv box.All in all, if you're looking for a tv box to install Kodi on and have no need to use apps that have a root check, this is a solid choice for under $100. For me, root is a deal breaker.

Says its vented, but gets pretty hot.
The box looks nice it says its vended for air flow. I have tested several boxes, this box get the hottest. Overall the box ran fairly smooth.
