It is now going back and I am very annoyed as I was hoping to control the washer from ...
This had numerous problems for me.1. The mode function on the smartapp didnt work at all.2. The timer function worked on the plug but said it had failed on the Android app.3. The second time I tried the timer it worked on the plug again but said it had lost contact with the plug and i needed to reset it all again4. I tried again manually triggering the switch but it failed completely saying the plug was offline.5. I tried to reset it again which meant pulling the washer out again! This time it allowed me to control it for about an hour but when I tried it later it stopped again even after installing the updated app.It is now going back and I am very annoyed as I was hoping to control the washer from work when my solar panels were in the sun....UPDATEBefore I sent it back, I shopped around for another smart plug and in the mean time was contacted by the supplier several times., They tried to get me to help with diagnosing problems with the device. They were persistent but very polite. After providing the mac address for the device and doing some more testing, where it seemed to work more regularly, they told me that the app doesn't work when setting up the timer away from your home wifi, but otherwise it works OK. I tried it several times over several days where I set up the timer from home to switch on the plug when I was at work and this seemed to work. They are working on resolving the issues with the app and hoping to get out the next version soon. I installed the last update from the app on my Android phone, the google app store didn't have the latest version in it. I will try to update this once the updated app is available. Raising to 3 stars for now.

Missold this item. Was described as s20
Missold this item. Was described as s20. I have lots of S20 smart plugs scattered around the house. They all work flawlessly thru the wiwo app. I've had a couple of them die on me so I decided to pick up spare ones when available. I did such back in Feb of this yera, and only yesterdya took it out of it's cellphane wrapping only to eventually discover this was not an S20 , but instead "the new improved B25". As it turns out by reading many reviews the B25 is crap compared to the S20. Well we could blame Orvibo for that. Why bring out an improved model that is worse? But colour me cynical. Myabe they want our s20s to be defunct so we have to replace them with B25s? Call me even more cynical @ Marsboy the seller who having obviously received a shipment of B25s and went on to sell them as S20s.The problem is whilst the B25 version might work. It will not work through the same app as the S20. This is outrageous as they are virtually the same in all respects. I am not having a separate app for one bloody switch.I have given away my b25 to my brother. The unit in itself might be great, but I have lost all confidence in the seller and would never purchase from Marsboy again. I suspect I am way out of range for demanding a refund and wont even bother doing so. Just buyer beware.Shame on Orvibo for bringing out a next gen product which is incompatible with it's predecessor and shame on Marsboy for fraudulently describing such as an S20

Great for basic use, but advanced users or users with current home automation beware!
Let me preface this, I have high end requirements for devices like this. If you are looking for a device that you want to control from the supplied app, then this is perfect for you, no buzzing noise and a nice to set up app. I do wish however, that you inform people before purchase that you are required to set up an account.Advanced users / Users with current home automation:I have tried this device with OpenHAB and Home Assistant. Neither has support for this device and are not likely to in the future as this device is cloud dependent and receives it's on/off messaging from said cloud service and it's current state (is the device on or off) is also cloud controlled . Please note, if you have a hue set up (with a hue hub), other users are reporting that this device is recognised as a hue device, so it may work for your system. On the off chance that someone from orvibo sees this, please release a public API so it can be better integrated into existing home automation systems.

It works........ ...
Build quality appears good as does the packaging and It works. The timers also work.........However, if you turn off your WiFii signal or your WiFi is on scheduled operating times (as mine is), it doesnt always re-connect and then you are on your hands and knees unplugging it going through the pairing procedure all over again but it is worth noting that the timer functions still work even though it is not connected via WiFi so that is a plus..........Only works on local network though and does not support Amazon Echo or remote access and the app also bombards you with messages that the timer failed to connect !...Not needed as the signal is not needed for the timer. At this price range, OK........Could do with a software change to addrees the polling issue with WiFi

Great value alternatives to the overpriced competition.
Could not get the device into the correct initial setup mode where it creates its own Hotspot.Contacted supplier who sent me another one but that had exactly the same issue. Both devices just keeping the door open now, must have been two faulty devices from same batch which is a shame. Not going to waste anymore time on them.ps I have computer and networking background as well as electrical engineering, so have some idea of what I'm doing.EDIT:I finally got these working through the Homemate app, not the Wiwo app. This was entirely my fault as I had been reading all the instructions on getting the device into AP mode from the internet and they were referring to a slightly different model.I now have both my devices working well, even cotrolled via node-red. Setup was simple when I did it as intended and they seem to be rock solid performers. Great value alternatives to the overpriced competition. (Stars updated to reflect)
