A teacher from long ago, and one of the best.
Do you want to know how to pray, as this barber of the 1600s did? Then read his story, and what he received so long ago, you too will receive it. And it will transform your life. One of the best writing on prayer! God is waiting for you with open arms, ready to bless you.

So simple, but so intense
This book is so simple and so intense that makes me wonder why on earth I couldn’t think about this before. Martin Luther took the 10 Commandments and The Father's Prayer and began a prayer as a conversation with God: praising, confessing, sorrowing, asking for forgiveness, etc.(...)“You shall not murder.” The first thing I learn from this commandment is that God expects me to love my neighbor, that I do him no bodily harm either by word or deed. I should in no malicious or vengeful way, led by anger, impatience, envy, hate, or any other evil motive, try to get even with him or harm him. On the other hand, I should know that I owe him assistance and good counsel for all of his bodily needs....Second, I thank him for his most indescribable love, concern, and faithfulness over against me. God has erected such a strong abode and wall around my person that all people are obliged to take care of and protect me, and I, in turn, owe them the same. When this doesn’t happen, he has ordered the government to punish those who fail to follow this ordinance.

A simple way to pray
I gave this book to a teenager who asked for it. All credit to the teenager.

Martin Luther in 1535
Nothing changes in the Bible.God's Word of the Old Testament and the Scriptures of The New Testament which are inextricably linked one to another. In this short book Martin Luther in 1535. wrote an explanation of how to pray for an old friend. It explains the Lord’s Prayer section by section in a most readable way. It then goes on to explain the Ten Commandments in much fuller detail followed by an explanation of what is behind the Creed. This is a statement of our belief in God our Father, Jesus Christ His Son and the Holy Spirit. It is all as completely relevant today as it was in 1535. In fact we are told that the book has never been out of print since it was written.

Excellent!!
What I liked was how the author gives clear examples of HOW TO PRAY the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments and more! —Encouraging us to take it from there and then use our own words as the Spirit leads our hearts. This is highly recommended reading for everyone who is serious about learning to pray more honestly and deeply. Enjoy!!
