Corded power from cordless kit.
Fantastic piece of kit, although I have not had it long and not tested it for long term durability. It is better than the cheap corded version it replaced (Scheppach). I have a variety of cordless tools from various manufacturers including Hitachi, Milwaukee, Ryobi and Makita as I am slowly moving all my tools to cordless. I was tossing up whether to get the Festool cordless track saw or this one and although having the Makita batteries was obviously a big advantage for this one I took time to make my decision. Based on a lot of reading and watching I decided that the verdict was half a dozen to one and six to the other in terms of which companies saw was better. Given I had the batteries it was a no brainer. Although I cannot compare to the Festool personally I cannot see how it could be that much better (outside of brand wank).Compared to a cheap corded version this blows it away, it is quieter, more powerful and cuts better than the Scheppach it replaces. Obviously there is a 100% price increase but I would say it is at least 200% better. This is probably true for the corded Makita as well, the lesson is expensive tools are better than cheap one... who knew?I have been ripping 9mm ply and 20mm beech worktops with no issue, the blade it comes with is good and the makita track (sold separately) is fantastic (it also fits the Scheppach track however you cannot engage the track lock on it). I have not even used it enough to wear a single bar down on the batteries (2x 5.0ah), I have done about 30 mixed cuts. The electric brake is fantastic as is the dust collection, the dust collection outlet fits a Bosch adaptor perfectly and is very effective.Overall a seriously good piece of kit, much better than cheap equivalents and I cannot see it being much worse than the corded Makita the freedom of not having to worry about 240v leads running everywhere is more than worth any tiny difference to the negative.

Typical Makita superior Quality
I considered a track saw for a long time and was torn between Festool and this one. Delighted with my choice as most of my tools are Makita and this one did not disappoint. First task was on low speed setting cutting 2mm acrylic sheeting where it worked beautifully.Next job was 18mm white melamine chipboard and again it excelled with not a single Chip out.I love the freedom of cordless. The Battery life with 2 5amp batteries is also excellent with a full day and still a charge left. Highly recommended.

What a saw !!
I am Carpenter/Kitchen fitter. I previously had Makita corded version but this is far superior in ease off use and portability. Do not hesitate to buy, clean cuts and battery life with twin 18v Fantastic .
