so good! unexpected ending!
The whole time I thought I had this book figured out, I was completely wrong. Didn’t see it coming! Even up till the very last word

Slow start but worth staying around for the ending.
Read this for my local book club. I thought it moved kind of slow for a while but the ending!! Oh my goodness- never saw that coming! And we probably had the most lively discussion we’ve ever had!Lots of twists and turns and good/bad in the same characters.

not my favorite
The good news is that I liked the characters and all the suspense that was building in the book. The budding romance, the small town secrets, and the constant questions on what was in the basement kept me reading. The bad news is that I didn’t like the answers to any of it. The secrets seemed pointless at the end. The big twist felt forced and more than a little rushed. I feel like this was a book that almost had all the ingredients, but still couldn’t put them together.

Loved it!
Great quick read. Twisty and it kept me guessing. I will definitely be checking out more of this authors work.

Thriller
Again, the story takes a bit to unfold and then the ending is rushed but it’s a twist you do not see coming and worth the read. Especially if you’re a quick reader.

Loved It
I wasn’t sure what to expect of this in the beginning but every page just kept getting better. The ending was absolutely mind blowing. Please get this book! You won’t be disappointed.

Issues...
There is a spoiler contained in this review. I advise against reading it.Chapter two and several more - the very specific beer mentioned is a TWIST OFF, not a pop top. There is no need to use a countertop, tractor, bottle opener, etc. Literally grip it between the thumb and pointer and twist. This is a basic flaw that was easily researched or not mentioning a brand.Chapter 13 - "...No one ever mentions that death has a sweet odor like the smell of a fresh-cut lawn or a ripe banana...." This is after the FMC, Grace, had fallen into a pit of dead animals. This was completely avoidable. There was no reason to investigate any sound in this direction as the smell would have been a deterrent. Clearly, the author hasn't had the displeasure of smelling the aroma of a decaying animal. I can attest it is NOTHING like fresh cut grass, a ripe banana, or remotely sweet. It is, in fact, distinct and bad.Why is there a Calvin POV when he dies at the end and the book continues. This pulled me completely out of the book and what was almost a four star rating.

Average
I love some of Jeneva Rose’s other books, so I was excited to find another one. However, this book really fell short for me. I didn’t care for either of the characters, and the plot was not overly interesting. I will definitely read future books of hers because it seems like her writing style has evolved, but this one was a miss for me.

Omg! New favorite author
Jeneva is astoundingly wonderful at writing captivating plot lines that you cannot guess. This is her second book I have read and to the last sentence kept me guessing. Normally I can pinpoint exactly where books are going, who the killer is etc. with Jeneva's books this is not the case and I am obsessed. 10/10 would recommend, can't wait for her new book on the 29th!!

Un peu trop gros
Un bon livre pour les vacances mais de grosses ficelles de scénario, pas très subtil. On voit venir la fin à des kilomètres.

Slow burner with a great ending!
A slow burner, but with a great ending. I did predict the majority of it but the character development was fantastic and there were a couple of little twists I didn’t see coming!
