While there is nothing basically wrong with this filter, a couple of poor quality fittings let it down slightly.1. The o ring seal on the "cleaning required" indicator is crap and leaks, I replaced this immediately, but I also have a box of spare o rings to choose from, not everyone will have these.2. The quality of the in/out connectors are not great, too short when you cut down for 25mm pipe and drips a little, which is worse when using clamps which indicate plastic too soft. I have ordered 2 quality connectors.3. The large o ring which seals the head unit needs careful placement, if out just a tad, it will leak badly. This requires a few goes and is not as bad as other reviews make out.Filter works well and is clearing the pond quickly, I have to work out how I can see the UV light, because I have black pipe so the see through connector is useless and for now I have to assume it's working.

To get the rubber seal back on between the 2 main sections thread it around the TOP section and NOT around the main body bottom section. Do it this way and its done in seconds with no leaks !!Very simple to setup and get running, it's a nicely built quality unit, neat, compact, perfect for my small pond.

I have a small pond (Only a few hundred litres) which is as much a water feature as a fish/plant oasis. This is oversize as specified but then so is the pump due to the blade cascade waterfall. Very easy to install, I hid the filter behind a trough of Snake grass. Crystal clear water now, fish, plants and snails growing (and breeding) happily!Only tricky bit with cleaning is making sure the seal is seated correctly when Refitting the lid.

Fantastic filter.Se easy n strait forward product.Highly recomended.Not had to empty it yet,and used it for 2 months.BY FAR THE BEST FILTER IV EVER HAD IN OVER 20 YEARS.ONLY FAULT,IS CAN NOT SEE UV BOLB IS WORKING,WITHOUT TAKING APART,AND SWTCHING ON"WHILST NOT BEING SUBMERGED UNDER WALTER"NOT RECOMENDED".BUT WILL NOT PUT ME OFF FM PURCHASING AGAIN.So easy to instool,for 67 years young female.

We are experienced pond keepers and this is the hardest pond filter we have ever come across. The O ring on the lid is very difficult to keep in place and also all pipe attachments so causing leaks. We have now given up on this and purchased a different make and type of filter.

Very reliable

I've had this a year now and had no problems at all. My pond is crystal clear. Other reviews mentioned leaks, but I have found this to be well made and a good watertight design. I would recommend this filter.
