Only 128 pages (as opposed to 160 of Volume 1), well illustrated, relies on captions as much as text to convey information; a useful supplement to Volume 1, which is priced at only £1.00 more.

A good overall book showing the key aspects of BR Freight operations as they were ideal for my purpose.

With these guys' credentials, you'd expect something pretty amazing. Unfortunately what you get is a series of wrongly-captioned photo's, bizarre assumptions about wagon design, modern photo's taken of badly restored wagons and a load of photo's of badly loaded wagons. If you're an H&S afficienado, that might float your boat, but I wouldn't recommend this to wagon historians or modellers. I've kept my copy as there are a minority of wagon types that I haven't got photo's of within.Awful book.
