C.K5674 Maxima Ratchet Pruners

Very poor materials were used to make this, and the jaws only open a tiny amount. A regular non rachet secateurs will cut through anything that can fit in the jaws of these. Plus when trying to cut hardwood branches, the "steel" blade flexes to the point where it prevents the rachet from engaging. This thing is really cheap so wasn't expecting high quality, but it should still be functional. As it can only handle branches so thin that a regular secateurs could handle, there's no point in getting this. Previous to buying this I had a Draper version of the exact same design and that thing was really impressive. This is junk which isn't worth your time

Many years ago a neighbour offered us some of these to try instead of using a convential type of secateur and although my husband didn't like them at all, he was very impressed with how much more of the pruning I could tackle before asking for help with the bigger stuff. I believe these are the third pair I have bought.Now more than 30 years on, my fingers are twisted with arthritis but these pruners make it so much easier to do quite a lot of the cutting back. My only gripe is that the picture on the website shows them as yellow and mine arrived today a bright red. A mere detail - I have already cut down a climber which the winter frost caught and hope do a lot more in the garden with them in future.

Not as good as same type I hade given to me 15 yrs ago! Metalwork not as strong as old one. (Cost cutting??!)

I bought these from 'DELTA TOOL CO' and the delivery was quick, however the item came in completely ripped packaging, with a hand written not on the order form saying 'sorry about the packaging', i wouldn't have minded if it had been the only one they had, but as it is still 'in stock' i am disappointed that they couldn't send one in better condition. This item was a gift so will now have to be given without packaging as there is not enough time for me to return it and get a replacement... The Pruners themselves seem to be okay and fully working.

I've used these excellent CK pruners for years and they are the best!

ive used these secateurs for many years,they do a fantastic job, and i was pleased they are still available,and the same quality. they suit normal and perhaps small size hands.good value. there is a temptation to try to cut overly thick prunings, and to wish they were larger, hence only 4 stars.
