Heavy duty well built pallet buster that will work well on most pallets out there without any prep required
Okay, after taking apart close to a dozen pallets with this, here is my reviewPros:This thing is well built,,,seriously...unless you plan on beating it up against concrete/metal it should last you a good while. Considering what it is used for, it should beHeavy, did I mention well built...that explains the weight...Cons:No instructions included..well, depening on the person involved that could be considered a con. took me a couple of minutes to figure it out. This is somewhat a possible design flaw. I have a couple of pallets (one being the heavy duty variety) where the slats are to close together to be able to get this inbetween/underneath them to work correctly. In those instances, plan on having to cut out a slat to be able to get started. Other designs I have seen would/should be able to work in that instance. Their legs (I assume thats what they are called) are not as wide/deep, so the close spacing doesnt effect their ability to get inbetween them.Would I recommend this, outside of the above mentioned issue, absolutely. Thankfully, most pallets dont require any prep to get going.

Built like a tank!
Yes it's heavy, yes it's bright yellow, and no it don't take no prisoners!! This is built to last a bit heavy but it's not him a bend or break like the cheaper models. I've tried the 1/4 inch steel models and when you are tearing into oak or maple pallets they bend or tweak the steel...idk about you but I hate breaking tools when I spend almost a bill. Overall I'm satisfied with this product.....its heavy and big and mean but that's what I wanted.

The older the better. Absolutely don't buy that little bag of stuff ...
I can't wait for the Amazon.com movie to come out: "Pallet Busters". What a wild ride that will be. This is an incredible tool for bustin' up pallets without out damaging a single hair on their heads. I'll never pay for old barn wood again. After a light sanding, rub on your stain of choice, let it sit for 30 secs. then wipe ip off with an old tee-shirt your tired of wearing. Let it dry outside and then brush on some clear Polyurethane clear finish. What you have left is ready to be installed as molding, covering plaster beams, used for making furniture, cabinets, you name it, what ever the wife wants. And get this, the shipping is FREE. Yes, Free. I don't know how Amazon.com can afford to ship this behemoth of a tool for free, but He does. Look for ads in the paper, Craig's list for FREE pallets. Don't pay 3 or 5 bucks for them when you can get them for FREE. Try feed stores, (Lemo's) lumber yards, construction sites, anywhere you see stacked up pallets just sittin' ion the sun, waitin' to die.The older the better. Absolutely don't buy that little bag of stuff at ACE hdwe. they sell for $17.00 that they claim will make new wood look old. It don't work and you still have to wait weeks to see that it don't work. Wan't free 2" x 4" for your DIY projects, rip up a few pallets and you will end up with more than you can use. Just watch those rusty nails, don't step on them with your bare feet, no tellin' where they been. Watch where you park the truck when your bustin' apart them pallets. I used to bust them apart by hand -- tough job, lots of the best boards break, splinter, split but now, there's not a wasted piece. Only problem is . . . I have saved so much time . . the wife is dreamin' up pallet projects faster than I can make them. Oh, and if your'e older than dirt, like me, you'll save your back from going out with this tool. Another warning, don't loan this to your neighbors or friends, because you'll never see it again.Don't buy the gadget they sell with no handle, not worth the effort tryin' to find a solid handle that fits properly and then you still have to paint it to match. I sell the darn stuff now cuz' I got so much stacked up against the barn. Those city slickers that are no good at DIY projects pay me for my busted up pallets. I charge $1.50 for a complete pallet disassembled with perfection or they can buy the wood, all stained, clear coated and ready to use for $5.00 a board. Can't seem to keep the stuff in stock. Now, that's all free cash to use as I see free to, just don't tell the wife I got this little business goin' on the side or she'll want a cut of the action. Bye now, happy pallet bustin".

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TEN STARS !!
This is by far the best Amazon purchase I've made out of hundreds and hundreds of AMAZON purchases!! I can't believe the economical price of this beautiful pallet buster. This pallet buster is strong and sturdy and of excellent quality. I'll try to post a picture but it won't do it justice. The part of the pallet buster that pulls the pallet wood apart is actually flexible and moveable and I didn't expect that at all. And this pallet buster is solid and strong so I appreciate the free shipping and handling. It arrived within just a couple of short days too so shipping was free and fast. I see I'm the first to give a review and that this is a new item to Amazon and so I'm letting everyone know that this is an excellent buy at an excellent price.

Great value, worth every penny!
I have been breaking down pallets by hand so I decided to give this a try. This model is more expensive than most others that don't have the rocker but it is worth every penny to me. First I can break down 5 or more pallets in the time it took to do one wit hammer and pry bar. Second i damage a LOT less of the wood. Yes you have to take some time to figure the best way at first to use it and if boards are real close together the first one isn't as easy. But either way it is all easier than the other option. It does have some weight but that just means it's solid and will hold up. Though I wouldn't call it heavy. Bottom line, great time and wood saver even on the tuffest pallets.

What a relief.
I was about to retire from make pallet furniture and whatever when I found this handy tool. Saved my back, my arms, my sanity! I was tearing pallets apart the old fashioned and frustrating way when I discovered this pallet buster. Works great for removing deck boards that need to be replaced too. What a relief it is.

Great tool. Cuts time in half. But need a few tips before using (in my comments)
Works pretty well. Just need food leverage and boots on to work best. It's very heavy which does help with leverage, but you need boots or heavy shoes and get a good stance and stand on one end of the pallet to work best. Also make sure that the handles are placed under the WHOLE width of the pallet or it WILL split it. Took me the first three boards before I got the hand of it. It split one, then semi-cracked the other two before I figured out you need the hands/claws under the whole wood or it'll crack where it isn't under the whole board. Pretty happy with it. 4 stars for learning curve and is weight.

Decent product, but can be improved
We were really excited to get this because we heard great things, but we weren’t as pleased as we thought we would be with it. It was a little too heavy and bulky for my young teens. They would get tired after just a little while using it. It is a little too big for between a lot of the spaces in many pallets. It breaks many of the boards when trying to remove them. The thought behind having the part that spins (the flat part that slips under the pallet board to be removed) makes since, but it often flips the wrong way and you have to reach in and fix it before using, making the process take longer than desired. Overall, I’m glad we have it, because it does work, but I would rather have a slightly different one.

This may not work for your pallet type
The product was delivered damaged with half of the device sticking out of the box. This happened because it weighs too much for how it was packaged. I didn’t remove any stars for the damage sinceit didn’t hurt the usability of the tool and it doesn’t need to be pretty. The grip is more of a plastic rather than a standard comfortable grip. It weighs more than you would want it to if you had to take apart pallets all day long, but for three to six pallets at a time, it isn’t too bad. On pallets that only have 2”-3” gaps you end up destroying the first board, because it is a little big on the bottom which makes it difficult to get it in between and under the slats. It gets a star knocked off for all the negatives combined, but it works better than any other method I’ve tried.

This has been a nice addition to my tools set and I've already made two planter boxes and a plant stand from pallet wood. The handle is welded to the bottom section which allows you to submit significant leverage to loosen the wood. The toe section articulates allowing you to get under the wood you want to remove. The toes flatten out allowing force to be distributed evenly helping to prevent damage to the wood you want removed. The tool is painted well to prevent corrosion. Loosening the wood is not for the faint of heart pallet manufacturers use nails that are like screws and significant leverage must be exerted to loosen the wood; however, most of the time pallet wood is free therefore worth the effort.

The only way to break up pallets!
Works as advertised! I am able to break apart even the most difficult hardwood pallets that use the nails with screw threads. You should be able to disassemble a pallet in about 5 minutes of work once you get the feel for how this works. One caveat: This is a workout. You will need to stand on one side (possibly both) of the pallet to provide a counterweight. Some force is required for the more difficult pallets. Learning to position the tool correctly helps avoid splitting wood, depending on where the nails have been placed. There are no instructions - you will need to learn through trial and error. I am giving this 4 stars because the rubber handle cover has such a nasty toxic smell I had to remove it. Stunk up the entire room. It might not matter in a huge warehouse, but not in a small room or garage.

Kudos to the engineer/designer of this great tool. I am a 36 year veteran of the remodeling industry and have a fairly large collection of tools. This pry bar is among the best designed I have ever had the pleasure of using. I just finished the demo of over 1300' linear feet of 5/4 x 6 pressure treated decking and this tool either pulled the (three 2-1/2" per joist) deck screws right through the lumber, pulled them out of the joists, and/or snapped them off. I'm not saying it wasn't a fight but the alternative battle with any of the other half dozen or so types of pry bars I own would have been a nightmare. Awesome value for the price and the labor it can save. The pivoting feature of the (feet) really helps in tight spots. The only thing I would suggest on an improvement would be to lengthen the handle to around 60 -65". Great product!

This is really a great tool to have if you do pallet projects
This is really a great tool to have if you do pallet projects. I've used mine for a couple of months now and really like it. It does a very good job of breaking apart pallets easily with little waste. Keep in mind that your success depends on the quality of your pallets. I've been able to break apart old and new pallets with ease. There is some loss but mainly do to the condition and how the pallets are assembled. Quality pallets come apart intact while some new pallets are assembled in such a way that the nails are forced so far into the pieces of wood that when you pull them apart the nails sometimes pull through the wood. Sometimes you're able to pull these apart and not loose boards and sometimes you simply create a little firewood. All in all a very good heavy duty puller. Construction is definitely "HEAVY DUTY". Like I've said, I've had if for only a few months but it is STURDY!!Very high quality, I would recommend it to anyone/everyone who wants to break apart pallets quick and relatively easily.
