The Perfect Dog Toothbrush
Our vet said if we didn't get our eight year old Scottish Terrier's back molars clean, she would need to sedate her and do a deep cleaning. The "traditional style" doggie toothbrush and finger toothbrushes were not cutting it. She hated them and wouldn't let us get to the back of her mouth. These toothbrushes are AWESOME! The are small enough to get to the back of her mouth and she doesn't pull away as much. The silicone is soft enough that I can actually get her to chew on it with her back molars which is what the vet suggested. After using these for a few months -- Great check up with the vet!!! She couldn't believe how much better her teeth are. No surgery--yay!!! I can't say enough about these toothbrushes. :)

Doesn't sweep under the gum line
I've been brushing my dog's teeth nightly for 6 years. Unfortunately, he cracked a canine (probably on a walnut, as we have a walnut tree). As a result, he developed a problem, so I was looking for a SOFTER than normal dog toothbrush.I've tried using each side of this one, and I've tried wrapping the head with gauze. The gauze gets loose and unwraps.PRO:1. Easy to clean.2, Will fit easily into a small canine mouth.3. MIGHT be more tolerated than a brush, if you are teaching your dog to tolerate brushing.CON:1. If you have a large dog, the handle is rather short -- like a child's toothbrush -- and you may have trouble reaching the back teeth, especially if you have large hands.2. The silicone nubs might be fine for young dogs with very healthy teeth, but they can't sweep under the gum line AT ALL.

Much better than finger cot or brush design
Let's face it, very few dogs like the toothbrushes. The finger cots were a no-go for my pet and the toothpaste falls off too quickly. Regular bristles are too rigid for my dog's mouth. Went to vet and they said it's not really the "brushing" that is making the difference, but the enzymatic toothpaste. This is a nice balance between the cot and toothbrush. You can get those back teeth, and it delivers the enzymatic toothpaste where it needs to go. Much more hygienic than the bristles too since you can rinse out all the product. Definitely a re-buy.

NEED THIS FOR SMALLER MOUTH PUPS!
For my "Bassoon" (Basset-hound,) these are perfect... so nice I wish this company would make a "tiny pup" model! I nearly gave it a 3-star but realize my needs for a "big-mouth" to "tiny-mouth" pup is no reason to not give it 5 as for Sophie the "Bassoon" = great! The double-side is WAY GOOD! Again, for your big-dogs this is PERFECT... you can get inside and outside the "toofs". Normally most owners only manage the outside of the teeth... this ''brush'' will help also to "get-back-under-inside-teeth" and it makes a difference... Recent check-up with our vet, Dr. Amber = she is impressed how clean Sophie's inside teeth were. We'd been using "cut-down" regular human brushes for all pups: and like us humans, brushes need 3, 6 or 9 month replacing. FOMATE is so soft. Sophie liked it way-better than the "cut-down" human style brushes we'd been using... When we brushed it was sort of "massage" level! Again, for a larger pup these are GREAT! But would love to see something like this for a little-pup!ADDING: My view is that you need to ALSO use a dog-tooth-paste on the FOMATE... Our family is partial to "Petrodex" poultry-flavored.

Nice but
These doggie toothbrushes are nice, but they do not work as well as a baby toothbrush. It would be great if the little silicone bumps were more like bristles. I had been using baby toothbrushes, but they started to show mold inside the bristles that I could not get out. I always clean them every day after brushing my 3 poms teeth, but the fine tight bristles were hard to clean. So I thought a silicone type would be better...and it would if it worked in brushing - if it had more of a bristle. I went back to the baby brushes that have bristles all around. I will just have to try to do something to prevent the mold. These might work for some people if they have never brushed dog teeth and wanted to get the dog accustomed to brushing. They are soft on the gums.

Best Doggie Toothbrush
All my dogs love this toothbrush as a toy. They will happily chew and gnaw on it for half an hour. They will seek this out and chew on it all on their own - no need to spend time coaxing them to use it. If you also play with them with it, you can add doggie toothpaste and make sure they chew with all their teeth. Mine love toothbrush playtime - it's become a part of their weekly Spa Day.Also, if you have a teething puppy, this is the perfect distraction to encourage the pup to chew on something other than your fingers! And if you bring your dogs to work, like I do, it's something people can use to play with your pup and be assured they won't get nipped by a teething pup.

best ever!
these are awesome!! no more worrying that i am scrubbing too hard and damaging gums that i can't really see if i am doing since our mixed dog has 95% black gums and tongue. these glide easily into side of our medium size mix lab's mouth, love that i can actually hear the scrubbier side rubbing against her teeth so i know i am geeting the back ones and really like that she was more tolerable with this and didn't move her head away too much. Now these won't help rid of current tartar build-up but, they and an enzyme toothpaste sure will stop future buildup if used every night i think. i don't recall seeing these in past searches so am glad that i accidentally found these for now that we have these brushes that works for both our dog & I, we will gladly spend money to have her teeth finally cleaned and avoid the back ones getting nasty again with these awesome toothbrushes, Petrodex Enzymatic and the oral dental wipes we use after meals.Would reallllly love if maker would make a thinner headed set for cats too, these would be great for their gentle gums and my finger would greatly appreciate not having to be a toothbrush wrapped with an oral wipe. i did try using one of these on them too but, the side of their mouths are just too small for the width of these...pleaseeee make some smaller sized ones for cat parents too!!
