The Westinghouse Cayuga Ceiling Fan is stylish, classic contemporary looking indoor ceiling fan with light that helps to keep rooms at a preferred temperature all year round.Installation of the fan is relatively trouble-free providing you have a reasonable understanding and experience of similar DIY (basic electrics / installing a new light etc). The enclosed manual is very helpful with guiding you through the installation process. However, relative competence in such matters is still required (as is a second pair of hands during the installation process).One point to note is that the fan is quite large and weighty (the Amazon listing states it’s 10kg). As such, it will put quite a strain on your ceiling when installed and running. Therefore you need to ensure that the fan is fixed to a good, strong supporting beam and not just the ceiling plaster. This is absolutely essential.Once installed, the ceiling fan really does look incredibly good. The rosewood finish fan blades look elegant and classically stylish. The light itself provides a soft, warming but perfectly illuminating light.In action, due to the size of the blades, the fan really does circulate the air incredibly well. The remote control allows for three RPM settings – the maximum giving an excellent airflow that cools the immediate vicinity incredibly quickly.On its lowest setting, the noise level is very minimal. Of course you can hear it – but the noise certainly doesn’t drown out a TV or conversation or anything like that. Even on maximum it’s still relatively quiet for a ceiling fan of this type.All in all we’ve been incredibly happy with the ceiling fan. It looks elegant and stylish in our front room, provides great circulation of the air (both cool when it’s hot in the house and warm when the heating’s on). Exactly what we wanted.

But if you want, literally to be cool, that is the price you pay.In hot weather fans are life savers.Instalation.It is easy to install and the instructions are clear. Saying that it is a two person job to lift and fix so you need to ensure help is at hand when you need it.I would estimate that provided you read through the instructions TWICE, have all your tools to hand and that extra set of hands means it could be done in an hour.So if you do get an electrician in to install make sure you get the hours and hourly rates right.If he quotes over an hour and a half for time think twice!In Action,In use it realy does look great and is whisper quiet with a good breeze.There are 3 levels.The remote control is good because it gives you full and easy control.A good feature is that the fan is reversible so that warm air may be circulated in colder months where you need it near the ground and in warmer months of course the hot air is taken from your living space leaving you a cooler environment.The remote control is easy to use, works well but you will need two good quality LEAK Proof AAAs to power it.Never use cheapo zince- they always leak and ruin the contacts. If you are not going to use the remote for a while take the batteries out and place it in a box with a couple of those gel sachets that keep things dry. Common sense really.Interesting points? It is large.You need to really think and measure the clearance in your room. You may suspend it if you have the room or fix it closer to the ceiling.Bear in mind the weight of 10 kgs will need a sound ceiling to be fixed on.In saying that there is a trade off with the light. The light will not illuminate the ceiling simply because the motor and it's housing is in its way. Also the maximum wattage is a low 60 watts maximum.With the new energy saving lamps out now I would check and double check the fitting and maximum wattage. No bulbs are provided with this unit but all the fixing stuff is.Again if in doubt ask a specialist.It is a fine fan and light combined that looks great in the right location and works really well.

It's taken us longer than we anticipated to get this item up and running. No sooner had we got it than we realised we were going to have to move house but, at last, we have it installed and up and running.We used the services of a qualified electrician who was doing some other work for us and he managed single-handedly to get this item assembled and working in less than two hours.The product is heavy and, when assembled, it is large. Our new bedroom is smaller than the one we originally intended this fitting for and it takes up a lot of ceiling space. I didn't like the look of it at first. It gave the impression of a large insect hovering over the bed but, now, I have grown used to it and I like it.The light gives a good effective glow which can be controlled by the remote, as can the fan. To get get silent operation of the fan, you need to have it on a low setting but it will provide a good steam of air at a higher setting.I have not rated durability as we haven't had it in operation long enough to give it a fair assessment. We are both very pleased with it.

Sehr gute Deckenventilator mit sehr schönem Design. Gerät läuft sehr leise. Die Spaltmasse der Flügelhalterungen könnten besser sein, behindert jedoch nicht die Funktionalität. Der Ventilator ist gut ausbalanicert und hat dadurch einen sehr ruhigen lauf. Extreem ärgerlich war der unzuverlässige Versand.

Nous l utilisons pour rafraîchir la maison mais le montage a été plus compliqué que prévu. En effet il faut absolument une installation pour interrupteur bipolaire car ne fonctionne pas avec un interrupteur standard.Sinon le résultat final est parfaitCe ventilateur est juste magnifique !il ne vacille pas même à la vitesse 3Bref n hésitez pas si vous avez la bonne installation électrique pour ce type de ventilateur

Ventilatore da soffitto.Westinghouse Cayuga .-Arrivato nei tempi previsti.Subito montato, completo di tutti gli elementi, Esteticamente valido, con telecomando, viti rondelle per il montaggio, che ho eseguito in autonomia.Per la cifra sborsata pari a 204 euro, mi sarei aspettato una rifinitura migliore per i supporti in metallo delle 6 pale e, magari una circolina led. Pretendo trpppo forse?E' tanta l'aria che muove, cm 152 di diametro, per la mia cucina, sono lideale. Alla 1^ velocita il Cayuga fa già il suo dovere, alla 2^ ed alla 3^ velocità, fa capire chi é veramente. Stabile, oscillazione pari quasi a zero, e con un minimo di rumore. Spero nella durata nel tempo. Sto già guardando qualcosa di analogo , ma di diametro inferiore. Westinghouse naturalmente e se sarà possibile.

Die Anleitung ist o.k., für mich als weibliche Ü50 Frau war er problemlos allein zu montieren. Braucht natürlich Zeit und wie so oft etwas mühsam die Kabel zu verstauen. Besser erst Anleitung und Teile am Boden durchdenken bevor man schraubt 😉. Auf Stufe 1 nicht zu hören, auf höchster Stufe nur der Wind. Fernbedienung funktioniert, Licht schalten wir aber über Wechselschalter (also die Stromversorgung an der Decke) , außer bei Ventilator ohne Licht natürlich.... Empfehlenswert.
