I have slightly low iron and I'm 45 yo but I can't tolerate most iron supplements but I can this one. I'm supposed to take 25 mg daily so I take 5 a day by dissolving them with sprite or 7up and I'm getting the benefits without the side effects like nausea and bloating.

My husband who is on blood thinners had a vein burst and as a result lost a lot of blood which affected his red blood cell count. Since these supplements are quick dissolve it also makes it a lot easier for him to take too as sometimes he has swallowing or gagging issues with large pills .Even though the tablets are quick dissolve he takes them with water to help dilute or wash away any after taste from them. Unless you get gummies which can contain corn syrup or added sweeteners a lot of pills/supplements can taste bad. However, given the choice when you have low iron counts of swallowing big iron pills which can taste worse or make him gag he takes these. He takes a couple a day and as his iron levels restore so is his energy. They are 5 mg. tablets and be aware that iron requirements differ for females and males, so check out requirements. These supplements arrived quickly and are wallet friendly too. Good for kids and those who once were kids a long time ago and got old.

I've read online that males generally need 8 mg of iron per day and females tend to need 16 mg per day. Upon having some recent bloodwork done I have seen my iron is a bit low. The iron panels are good, however, there are other indicators that I show signs of anemia. It is easy, and noticeable, when you have too much iron in your system so I want to be careful about the dosage Locally, I can get 28-65 mg in one pill but that's far more than I want to take. 5mg a day is a healthy enough dose to boost my iron while allowing me to get the rest through food sources.For some reason I did not notice these are chewable, despite it being all over the page. I just put one under my tongue for a few seconds and it is gone completely in under a minute. Less mostly. You can chew it as well and it does have a grape flavor with a side kick of mediciney taste. Hardly noticeable. I do recommend them even if you just want one every 2-3 days to supplement your daily iron intake.

We were using a different brand very similar to these and no one carries them anymore. These are as good if not better. They dissolve easily yet aren't all powder in the bottle.

Metallic aftertaste but tiny pale purple colored pills that easily melt in mouth (but also turn to powder inside bottle if dropped or shaken too much).

These are very good, it's not too much for the daily value so you don't have to worry about overdoing it.The tablets are very small I mean really tiny and they do dissolve under your tongue but it does take about 3 minutes to fully melt away. Maybe you need a good amount of saliva for it to dissolve easier I am not sure.There is a faint taste while dissolving but no horrible aftertaste. Still, I say keep a drink nearby for after just in case it is needed.This is definitely a good buy and you won't find a better product for dissolving iron tabs.
