This book is beautiful!

This book really doesn’t disappoint! It’s aimed at three plus years and I’d say that is a really accurate entry age, my four year old loves it and understood everything covered. It was a little simple for my eight year old but he still learnt about a type of jelly fish he was unaware existed and it encouraged him (and myself) to look at migration in different formats.The information is imparted in a really ‘non busy’ narrative that makes this book perfect for young learners, it doesn’t feel ‘facty’ but at the same time you finish it feeling you’ve learnt lots. The illustrations are really charming and appeal to a child’s sense of adventure, it has human characters running throughout which I feel makes the information more concrete to young thinkers not yet able to process things that appear too abstract. All I’m all we loved this book!

I can only echo the positive reviews here - our 4 year old son loves this book, which focuses on animal migration. The illustrations are superb and the book is finished to a high standard. The inclusion of maps is a real bonus, providing further scope for discussion and learning. Just enough detail to be digestible at bed time, and a worthwhile and considered addition to any child's book collection.

Nos ha encantado este precioso libro sobre animales que migran. Precioso y didáctico. En inglés, pero poco texto y fácil de comprender. Con un mapamundi al principio y al final un pequeño glosario con los animales vistos.. Yo solía pensar que los únicos que migraban eran las ballenas o las aves. Aquí hemos descubierto que hasta las mariposas o cangrejos también cambian su hogar a lo largo del año. A los crios les ha parecido interesante y hasta los adultos hemos aprendido. Como colofón lo compramos con una oferta del 50% de descuento... Si lo sé compro unos cuantos más para regalarlos en los próximos cumpleaños del cole o de la familia...Gran regalo para quien ame a los animales y la naturaleza. Dibujos muy bonitos.Espero que haya sido útil mi valoración

Saw this book being recommended on Countdown. Wasn't disappointed. It's a beautiful book with very charming illustrations. I had intended for my 5 year old daughter but the language of the book is not too simplistic. My 9 and 12 year old boys loved it too. Although i wish it had more pages as you do with good books :)

my grandson is a very bright nearly 4 year old and he loved the book he is interested in anything wildlife related Chris Packham really knows how to appeal to a childs imagination
