This classic oldie children's story is one I wanted to share with my 10 yr old granddaughter for her Birthday Jan 6. I still love it and hope she will, too. The only disappointment is that it does not contain the H C Andersen story of "The Red Shoes" which I thought it did. I don't know where to find that but I remember it as a ballet with Danny Kaye the story teller. Can you help me find it?

Danny Kaye and Hans Christian Anderson, what a mighty combination. I am using this tool to try and get my granddaughters to learn how to sit quietly and listen to the story, an art lost by most little ones today. Danny kaye is a story teller from my own past and is just as amazing to listen to today!

A good collection of songs children and adults can sing along with.

In fact, I think I may still have it! My favorite song? Thumbelina! I still have my Thumbelina doll! I remember singing the song and dancing with my Thumby to the song! Actually, I love the first six songs on this CD!!!!!

If you grew up in the 50s, you might know and love these songs. If you grew up later, you might learn to love them. I used this album recently with a preschool class, and the kids especially liked Ugly Duckling, Emperor's New Clothes, and Inchworm.

My favorite childhood album still stands true as great family entertainment. Danny Kaye was a genius entertainer and this collection of songs can still keep curious kids (and adults) entertained today as well as it did 50 years ago!

Totally bored with bland nursery rhymes in the car? Then buy this. Also, buy the film so your kids can learn the actions to Thumbelina et al. My 3 year old loves singing along to this and it's so refreshing to hear the talent of Danny Kaye singing instead of some backing singers sounding bored to a rubbish track of something like wheels on the bus!The songs might be 50 years old - but they're all classics. This soundtrack was definitely money well spent, especially at such a bargain price from Amazon.

This album contains most of the same songs as the one of my youth - but missing Uncle Pockets and There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea - and makes up for the ansences with a lot of other tracks some of which are quite fun... but at least there are all the Hans Christian Andersen songs and Tubby the Tuba to regale my nostalgic heart. Can't wait to entrance (or bore!?) my grandson with the tales of Tubby and the Ugly Duckling

Nice cd that my 6 year old seems to love. I mainly got it for the ugly duckling song as he had to do a show and tell about an original fairy tale. He took his cd to school and all the children enjoyed it. He loves some of the other songs on it too and I also find it nice to listen to. There are a couple which we are not so keen on but that is just our personal choice. Good value for money and quick delivery.

We bought this for one of our grandchildren - its also a memory to people of "a certain generation".We took the first copy we bought,to Australia for two of our grandchildren out there (needless to say our daughter and son-in-law loved it -memories of a time gone by.Great value -it arrived extremely quickly.I respect Amazon and use them regularly.
