Ancol Weatherproof Nylon Black Training Halter Head Collar Animal Pet Training Accessory, Medium

I really like these headcollars. They seem to be more comfortable for the dogs than others (they don't tighten on muzzle and they don't ride into their eyes) while still working to stop pulling. With these on both of my dogs, I feel confident walking nearly 50 kg of dog and not getting pulled in the direction of the nearest squirrel.The only thing is I'm not convinced by the sizes of head collars. I ordered a size medium for my 30kg GSD X Northern inuit. There's no size guide on amazon but elsewhere it suggests the following sizes (see bottom of review). Which would mean a L or XL for this dog. I have previously had a HALTI in size medium (halti size 2) for this dog so I wasn't convinced as the head of a Labrador is much larger than the head of a GSD even for the same weight. In the end I decided to go for the medium again, and it fits perfectly. I used the HALTI neck size guide to guess the size of our 18kg rescue dog which was a small (halti size 1), and again it fits perfectly. This possibly isn't the best size guide as it's for a different product and the important size is the muzzle not the neck but for me, it's much better than the Ancol sizing.I've attached pictures of the 18kg rescue in both small and large head collars. Her muzzle is 20 cm with her mouth closed. The small head collar is up to 26 cm which gives her room to open her mouth with no problems. The medium head collar is 33 cm round the muzzle. The back of this collar can tighten to her head size, and the little leather tab can reduce the muzzle size so it fits. So we adopted a rescue staffie who indoors is an absolute baby, just wants to be cuddled and be near you. Outside on walks it's as if you don't exist and she pulls and jumps around trying to get at cats, dogs, plastic bags, to say she is nervous outside is an understatement. It got to the point where I could not walk her because she would hurt my back by pulling etc., I bought this head collar in the hope that it would work.After having this head collar for a few weeks now I am happy to report that walking our dog now is soooo much easier. She still tries to pull but realises she can't and she is actually walking to heel now. She has this together with a harness. I have decided to buy a nervous lead to show people. The only downside to this is some people think it is to stop her biting but when I explain to them that it is to stop her pulling and that she is nervous they understand.It took some perseverance to get her to keep it on at first as she didn't like it and did make several attempts to get it off. However, now she puts her head forward for you to put it on and it's only when we get home that she goes mad trying to get it off.I would most definitely recommend this collar. Your dog may not like it at first but like I say if you persevere you will be happy with the outcome.

Absolutely brilliant!! I have an 18 month old black Labrador who constantly pulled on her collar to the point where she managed to make me pull a muscle in my shoulder! We even tried a harness but still that made no difference but the halter head collar works like magic as she physically can't pull me. She is now a dream to walk! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a strong over excited dog! *****

Just got this and used it for the first time and oh my god I can't believe the difference, my dog wasn't too keen to start with but this Was The first walk we'd had where she hasn't pulled my arm out Of The socket. I Am so happy I got it because I have a 15 month old German shepherd and I was beginning to think training her not to pull was a lost cause but this is amazing, I'd tried a harness even resorted to a choker but both were useless, this halti is the best thing I've ever bought her, still can't believe it works but it does. 😊

We took on a 15 month old male German Shepherd rescue form Battersea. He pulled and was uncontrollable on a collar and lead, and a harness wasn't much better. On advice we purchased one of these. I used a length of string to measure around his snout and neck to ensure the dimensions stated would be correct, and they were spot on.He didn't take too kindly to having it on his nose, but with distractions and treats soon got fed up trying to get it off. Walking was great... took a good 200m or so where he rebelled but then gave up and would walk slack lead by my side for the rest of the walk. This gave a lot of control, so we could easily pull him away if needed.It does have a tendency to rid up the nose when the dog pulls a bit, which can't be comfortable for the dog, so knocked off a star for that, but otherwise very happy - Walks are no more enjoyable

I had to return item as the small 1-2 which is the smallest they do, was still too big for our 7mnth old Jack Russell. So I can't comment on the product properly.I've attached a photo of the sizes on the packet for anyone whose not sure what size to get. It would be useful to know the min to max sizes though rather than just the max. For anyone who's wondering the small one min size for around the neck is about 25cm, so suitable 25 to 42cm neck. The snout part varies on size anyway so it goes as small as you like.Returns was very quick, easy and simple, thank you.
