Disappointed, Hammer misfire
Expected this to be really scary as it was Hammer, but peculiarly disappointed : strange film which doesn't seem to know where it's going; felt it to be confused, could've been far more affective if placed in the hands of a different creative team.

Good video, bad audio.
The video quality is excellent on this film, but the audio quality is very bad. There is a lot of hiss during dialogue and it gets worse whenever the dialogue stops. I can't understand why the effort is made to restore the picture quality, and the audio is left in such bad condition. That's why I give this 3 stars. Noel Fitzgerald.

Great movie, DVD let down by poor extras
This is an excellent clear transfer in widescreen format. Unlike one of the other reviewers here I was very disappointed by the commentary, by the producer, continuity lady and a Hammer historian. Most of the time they just ignored the movie and chatted about rather obscure matters of studio history, there were a few interesting snippets about Bette Davies and that was about all. I am not uninterested in background material to productions or in movie history but this just left me cold.

it appears to be good but at times I found it a bit grainy
(This refers to the bluray Australian release).regarding the quality of the blu ray: it appears to be good but at times Ifound it a bit grainy. This depends, I guess, from the quality of the main source. Giventhe fact that at the moment it is the only bluray version available of this film, I am grateful to have it.There are no extras.

Beware! French subtitles cannot be removed!
Confessions à Un Cadavre French Blu-ray edition... Picture and sound quality is fair. Whilst the soundtrack is in the original English, the French language subtitles are embedded and cannot be removed.

Nail biting
In this Hammer horror no blood or gore is needed, you are on the edge of your seat all through the film. Was she or wasn't she responsible for the death of a child ? Will she or won't she be responsible for the death of another? This film as with the wonderful acting of Betty Davis will have you puzzled right up to the end.Although Wendy Craig plays a great supporting role she does irritate the viewer.

A Hammer Horror with Betty Davis
One of Betty Davis' last films, and what better way to finish her long film career than an Iconic Hammer Horror. Those eyes go right through you!
