First Hundred Words in English : Amery, Heather, Mackinnon, Mairi, Cartwright, Stephen: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: All children toddlers to year old love this book - This is a great book , I used to use in my job checking children vocabulary , and comprehension . Children all loved this. Great to sit with kids and find the duck , expand vocabulary, reading explaining social situations in very naturalistic manner . I always enjoyed theses didi the kids . Review: Five Stars - This is the first review I have ever written on desertcart yet I felt compelled to share how fantastic this book is. I have a 26 month old boy whose understanding and intelligence is obvious yet he has been slow to talk. He has never sat down and spent time on a book as he has always been active. This has changed that. The pictures are so busy and vibrant he loves looking at them. They are also so relevant - in the park, bedtime, in the bath. Words are exactly what he sees every day and the pictures are very clear. Having to find duckey on every page excites him too. There is a page for colours and body parts. Its s good size too and whilst not a board book robust enough. Cannot rate highly enough for helping my son expand his vocabulary.

2 year old loves this
My 2-year-old daughter loves this. I ask her to find objects in the pictures and she loves the challenge. Would also work well with older kids, teaching vocab

Cute illustrations but a bit flimsy
Lovely book to learn first words although a tad thin and flimsy so already looking a bit sad. Bit difficult for toddler (20 months) to turn one page at a time too. Cute illustrations though and still picked up several times a day.

A must have toddlers book
After reading the reviews I bought this for my 20 month old daughter. She loves this book. Her understanding and verbal skills have dramatically improved as the book holds her attention with alot of colourful things to look at. We have been reading through it for two months now and she just loves it. I would highly recommend this book.

It's an adorable book with words introduced starting from the basic home setting to moving outside. Kid friendly. Loved the illustrations

Je trouve cette version très adaptée aux petits qui sont dans l'imitation de l'anglais. Beaucoup d'autres imagers sont trop chargés, beaucoup trop de mots, trop compliqués sur une page pour pouvoir les mémoriser. Dans ce manuel, chaque page représente un thème, la salle de bains, la famille, les couleurs...

This is my very favorite word book. The funny, engaging pictures act as a “find it” activity, and source for endless conversations using their newfound words, as well as the little yellow duck hidden in each picture. The adorable chaos in the pictures encompass all the confusion of life with little ones. I try to always keep at least one copy on hand to give to every mother of a new baby or young child I know. I love it so much I’ve even given it to people I hardly know! It’s only drawback is that some copies in “English” have British English, so occasional words are different, like “sweater” is listed as “jumper”. Since you’re reading it TO them, I don’t find this a problem—If you wish, you can use it as an opportunity to teach that people in different countries have different names for the same thing. I have not been able to identify which copies come with just the American versions.
