I got this kit for my boyfriend's 8 year old son. I gave it to him on Christmas Eve and he immediately got to work. Safe to say that even after all the gifts he received on Christmas, he always went right back to building his fish tank.I think it had just the right amount of difficulty for an avid Lego builder like him, although I thought the directions could use a bit more instruction. I would say he spent 6-8 hours building it.Unlike other reviewers, his kit seems to have come with all the parts. Similar to other reviewers I did notice that it didn't seem to be super sturdy, especially when building the initial platform.It was such a hit I'm contemplating on buying more for my nephews once they get a little older.

This does end up so cute but boy is there is alot of steps over 100. Very fun and time consuming.

It’s pretty, the way it is set up the gears to move The turtle doesn’t actually work as fully as it should. I did have a lot of pieces missing for some of the plants and for the fish, which was sad, but made it work anyways.

This set was very age appropriate. Grand daughter loves it in her room, especially knowing she put it together.

My son and I are very skilled in Lego building and we’re both super patient when I comes to sets. This set is absolutely the most frustrating set I’ve ever encountered. The directions are terrible. We had a ton of missing crucial pieces and worst of all pieces don’t always stay together. So when you’re working on one part pieces pop off in another part. It’s incredibly fragile.Honestly its the most frustrating thing I’ve bought in a very long time.We’ve spent all day Christmas Day putting it together and it has not been a fun build for us. I absolutely would return it.

This is a super cute aquarium build at a great price. I love the lights which really elevates the finished piece. The only thing that would make the aesthetics better would maybe be actual plastic "glass" sheets to close it in. This is definitely a set to put together for display. On to the negatives... The instructions are horrible. They aren't printed in full color so it can be difficult to know exactly which piece your looking for or exactly where and how to place it. I think this caused the issues I had with the movement mechanism (I gave up on that working). I couldn't get the blocks to fit and I wasn't about to take it apart and redo it due to the issues and frustration I had with constructing the base. The worst and most frustrating issue I had was with building the base. Everytime I placed a new piece it was either extremely hard to snap together and/or the whole thing collapsed. It took several hours over 3 days to get it put together. This was a gift for my 11 year old son who is pretty experienced with the brand name block builds and he gave up very quickly. Adult help is definitely needed for younger builders on the base. The fish, crab and seahorse were a lot more easy to put together and the instructions weren't quite as difficult. My son out those together himself very quickly. For the low cost, I'd still probably purchase again knowing what I know now. It is a super cute and fun finished product. My feedback for the manufacturer is to print the instructions in full color and maybe with a little more detail.

Awesome to assemble and looks amazing with the moving parts

I was really excited to do this with my kids but it was horrible. Unmarked bags, instructions were horrible and missing pieces. So disappointing
