Not suitable for socks as it’s 100% merino, unless you want holes in toes & heels!
This wool is lovely to knit. I am using 3.5 mm needles for my mitred squares as I knit tight. I am aiming for a loose throw/Afghan. If I were to knit jersey, I would use a smaller size. The wool varies from tightly wound up, and hence very fine, to meshy. I like that as it reminds me of Japanese wool… the colour variations are repeated but not in the usual robotic fashion - they vary in length and also alternance . The colour combination 845.0051 is slightly darker than appears on my photo and also duller.I had to hunt for more balls as my local shop only had 5. I got 16 more from Amazon & Etsy and was surprised to get the same dye lot as the original ones for 14 of them. I wasn’t fussed about that as I am not knitting a jumper but was really surprised by that. Lang must have sent the whole 8784 lot to Britain. Just wondering how many balls they dye in one lot….
