What else to say, am addicted to this fantastic tasting yeast extract & full of Vit B's.The draw back, the price is very high as after Brexit products coming from Europe almost doubled in price, so wont be buying as frequently as I wish.

This is a yeast extract that is not only very healthy but also delicious. It does not have too much salt. It can be spread on bread but I use it mostly in cooking. My favourite is to add it with butter to boiled or steamed potatoes and leeks.

This is the delicious 'Vitam R' I know from childhood in Germany. As other reviewers have said it's like Marmite but less salty, less intense. Lovely and savoury on toast and crumpets.The only thing to note is that these are small jars, hence the four stars instead of five. It means you get more quickly to the frustrating stage when you are struggling to scrape the last bits out of the jar and trying not to waste it.

It's also not black but a bit offensive in colour - a cross between dark murky Taupe and Mustard. Tastes not salty but chicken-skin without the salty bit (not as boo-ti-ful as it sounds) Nearly threw it in the bin as I gagged until I realised, it just might be healthy and I'd went and bought FOUR of them. So I've mixed it in with my Marmite, just in case. I doubt I'll be back for more unless I'm caught with a god doing a trapeze act across the Grand Canyon in a few weeks.

Yum, yum, yum, yum! Brilliant gluten free alternative to grain based yeast extracts with a tasty milder flavour. Much prefer it to Marmite (which I no longer eat as I'm coeliac and Marmite is barley based) . I add a big dollop of this when making gravy or sauces for a fabulous umami savoury flavour. Makes a great hot drink. I sometimes eat it straight off the spoon for a hit of flavour and B vitamins. Couldn't be without this now!

Love this stuff - milder than Marmite, more yummy and easier to spread. Good for spreading on bread and toast, as well as adding to sauce/gravy etc. Don't get me wrong, I love Marmite and I used to eat it all the time - but I can't deny I prefer Vitam-R since being introduced to it about 15 years ago.
