Elemental Soil Acidifier Sulfur Pellets (20 Lbs.)

I just received the 20 lbs of these sulphur pellets that I ordered for garden use. I am so pleased with the size and consistency of these little pellets because they will be easy to spread and they will dissolve into the soil well. Using sulphur to increase the acidity of our soil has worked very well for the plants I grow and has been critical for growing healthy potatoes. Our soil is heavy on the clay side and quite alkaline. Without increasing the acidity of our soil the potatoes get a lot of scaring (deep gouges on the outside of the potato). Ordering and receiving this pellet sulphur was easy to do and I am glad to have a new supplier for use in the future.

We use this in the yard to ward out ticks fleas and other bugs. But the biggest thing we use this for is snakes repellant. Sprinkle this all around your fences and gates. Around the edge of your house outside of course. Coat it good. Will keep snakes from coming into your yard. We’ve done this for 10 years. No snake in our yard. Once a year. Our dogs and cats do not bother it. It does not effect them in any way.

The price is still a bit high for plain sulfur, but it is conveniently packaged in three sturdy resealable plastic bags, and I find the pelletized sulfur much easier to use, and having three moderately sized bags more convenient than one large bag.

Minor tears in bag but that was shipper. Great product. Love the bead form and easy to scoop and apply.

Needed to buy more sulfur I had bought fast acting sulfur from Home Depot and what I had bought wasn’t enough. Tried my luck with this and it worked better than what I had originally purchased at Home Depot. The other one barely moved the pH down from 7.3 to 7.0 and went right back up again. This one worked relatively fast (within a week) and stayed down to my target range. It’s better to amend in the beginning as sulfur can take up to a year to change so you’re going to want to buy more than you think and only works if it is mixed well into the soil. I like this one and I will buy it again.Edit* Wanted to update my review with a pic once everything was said and done and the bed looks wonderful!

I bought this as the first of 2 applications to put on my lawn to lower the PH. I ordered it here because my local Co Op was out of it. It has been over 6 weeks since I applied it and in that time the lawn has been watered every 3 days plus occasional rains. The pellets show very little sign of melting and I'm wondering how long it's going to take if ever. Today I bought 2 bags from my local Co Op at less than half the price I paid here. The bags I got today have water dissolvable written in large letters on the front of the bag. I don't remember if the amazon bags had that. I paid $70 for the 2 bags today and $175 for the ones from Amazon. I'll update my review after I know what the second application does. In the meantime buyer beware.
