An enjoyable and quite mad at times book to read.
Emma is married to a right thug. He is imprisoned for five years. He has his psycho brother, mother & favourite henchman watching her every move to make sure she remains loyal to him. Emma wants to escape his clutches, but he has made threats against her mother & sister’s family. She feels trapped. This book was very readable and quite mad at times and I enjoyed it.

Rushed ending
Disappointed with what feels like a quick and rushed ending when the rest of the book was so drawn out. I feel there was so much more potential with the plot.

Lacking suspense and tension
If you like a good, well-written, quick read this is the book for you. However, if you are looking for an intelligent organised crime thriller this is will sadly disappoint. There is no tension or suspense. Everything is spelled out for you. The facts of organised crime read like a shopping list, as if the author had just copied and pasted his research into the book. Having said that I couldn't stop reading. The character and plot wasn't particularly engaging but the writing was. The ending felt too simple, I'd have liked a bit more drama and emotion. I feel the problem was coming from nonfiction to fiction writing and if the author works on the difference between crafts his next book could be a bestseller. I'm giving it three stars as there's room for improvement, and I will seek this authors work out in future.
