Good product. Atrocious packing
On receiving this item i was sure i was going to give it no more than 2 stars because the packing was a joke and as other comments have pointed this out there is no excuse. The whole length of the box was split from poor taping and the only thing keeping the contents inside the box was the common sense or luck of the posties who held it in in such a way that nothing fell out.Having said that when i got around to allowing the contents to fall out i was impressed, hence the 5 stars.I wasn't sure from the description how many fixtures were included so i was happy that every attachment was there including the wall bracket and angled pole with 4 u-bolts. As i was replacing a rusty dish i was expecting to have to fix the new dish to the old pole and even bought the accessory v bolt for pole mounting which was not needed as everything was included except 4 bolts to mount the wall bracket (according to the description these should have been included so maybe they fell out). [edit. on contact with supplier they very quickly sent me 2 sets of bolts with raw-plugs]I was also pleasantly surprised that all the brackets are unchanged from my old Raven system which is at least 10 years old even down to the position of the 4 holes to fix the wall bracket to the wall. The parts are all good quality. One word of advice don't change the skew of the sky LNB (the eye thingy). It is twisted deliberately and is presumably pre-set for the UK. I thought it was set up wrong and straightened it and although i had good picture with good signal strength, the signal quality test was zero. I had to mess around with it after installing which is a bit of a hassle.According to different websites the skew in central Scotland should be about 13.0° (clockwise when facing the front of the dish). Apparently it is 22° in Cornwall. (Strangely i could get the same result with about the same amount of anti-clockwise skew). There are no instructions but easy to find on the internet.Incidentally if replacing an old dish a satellite finder meter isn't absolutely necessary especially if you have easy access to a view of the TV where the signal test screen is visible (I look through a window).

a great little and easy to install sat dish
What an easy piece of kit. Got a bit muddled, as came with no instructions, but worked it out, looking at how some of the neighbours ones fitted together, but for the price it was find and is working well. Very pleased indeed.

does what it says but don't buy from WORLD OF SAT unless you live in london
bought a few sat dishes from TECHSTAR fast delivery no problems reccomend .tried to buy one from new seller WORLD OF SAT they would not send made the excuse they only deliver in London just don't want to deliver to a Scottish isle. anyway dish fine. i just wish they would keep to one type of wall bracket saves having to drill more holes when replacing dish.

My Freesat TV is here at last ....loads more channels, and free to boot!!
A well built dish which arrived in good packing, and therefore undamaged. Should do the job on all accounts. The fixing/assembly instructions are a little on the 'thin' side, but the average DIYr should be able to get it put together OK ,via reference to the web. This is the sort of job that people should do themselves as the pro installers will simply stick it on the side of the house (usually at head height) as they do not like the expense of hiring scaffolding to get it on the stack. DIYrs should work slowly, think ahead and it is a straightforward task. Pre-drill all the bolt holes into the bricks with a small 6-8 mm 'sharp drill' to start with, and only when all the holes are pre-drilled, use the final drill to open out the holes to the final 'plug size' for the bolts that hold the dish to the stack. Only work in good weather (no rain, no wind) and tie the ladders to the walls and the rafters using eye bolts and two independent sets of ropes under the guttering. I set the dish to vertical with a spirit level and then slowly swung the dish from full East to South and got a strong signal on the Sat Finder. I locked the dish into position using a 10mm ratchet spanner, looking at the TV signal on the set-up mode the signal strength was high, but the quality was low, a slight vertical adjustment of the dish dramatically increased the signal and sound level on the Sat Finder and all channels came in. Skew as set at 5 degrees..works for me.Sort the docs out guys and you will get better reviews; you know it makes sense. I recommend this dish.
