JL AUDIOXd500/3V2: 3 Ch. Class D System Amplifier, 500 W

I bought this amp to power a set of Focal PS165 components, and a JL 10W0v3 Subwoofer, in my Audi RS4 avant. I picked this amp on recommendation from my installer and haven't been disappointed. If you want to upgrade the audio in your car, I'd seriously look into buying one of these amps to power front speakers and a sub, and disconnect rear speakers (they're completely unnecessary, as you want the soundstage in front of you anyway). I have crystal clear and deep sound now, a hundred times better than the original BOSE system in the RS4, and far better than the factory Bang & Olufsen system in my old 2009 Audi A4, at a lower price too.Being a class-D amp; It produces great power for its fairly small size, without producing much heat. 75W RMS to front speakers plus 180W RMS to the sub is perfect for my application. The small size (21.6cm x 18.0cm x 5.2cm) means great flexibility in installation location.In the past, in a previous car, I've used 2 separate (larger) genesis amplifiers that then needed a false floor over them to hide them, and adequate ventilation. This JL amp fits neatly into the wheel well area under my existing boot carpet, and just needed a bit of the foam in the wheel well to be cut away to accommodate it. It has been perfectly happy down there for several months and hasn't overheated and cut-out once. The clarity of the sound is fantastic, with no hums/pops or hissing as you can get on cheaper amplifiers.Highly recommended.

Tons of power and flexibility

Amazing quality amplifier. It sounds really good and does not distort at all. Works perfectly with the balanced differential output from my BMW headunit. The amp is incredibly small making it easy to mount anywhere. No matter how loud I play my speakers I cannot get this amp to get anywhere near hot.The ability to independently set cutoff slopes, frequencies, and gains between each output is very welcoming. My only complaint is this amp does not have a subsonic filter- you have to get a higher model for that feature.Be aware that buying of Amazon you loose any warranty from JL. For the price difference I was willing to take that risk
