Eau Thermale Avène Skin Recovery Cream RICH, Sterile Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin, Fragrance, Paraben, Soy, Gluten Free, 1.69 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

I've used Avene for ages and finally thought I'd write a review! If you have dry skin that's also sensitive, this cream will likely suit you well. It's very gentle and has no perceivable fragrance, so it just nourishes the skin without irritating it. And it *doesn't* irritate the eyes!! I've got really sensitive eyes, and I can actually use this cream to moisturize the undereyes and eyelids with no burning or irritation. With other creams (and I mean other good quality, expensive creams), if I get them anywhere near my eyes, my eyelids start to feel heavy, and I start feeling sleepy and having a bad headache.Those with dry skin will know the common issues moisturizers have: they're either too thin to properly nourish and relieve our skin OR they're so thick and oily that they take hours to soak into the skin. Well, this cream is the perfect balance -- definitely thick enough but soaks in relatively quickly (get this rich version, not the extra rich). Also, tons of other high quality (and low quality) creams have the annoying issue of leaving residue behind -- they basically don't soak in entirely, so they leave this thin film on your skin that later starts peeling. This cream does *not* have that issue at all.Lastly, the cream does not react with make-up (as some creams do).So, all in all, this is the perfect moisturizer. I can't say if you'll feel the same way, since everyone's skin is different, but if you have dry sensitive skin like me, I predict you'll be very happy with this product.By the way, it's the same cream as the rich compensating cream that used to come in the short and wide glass container (packaged in a small square box).

I have been suffering from a painful eczema flare up for the past month which didn’t heal because I was slow to order an Avene moisturizer after running out (Happily I will only ever be using Avene for the rest of my life). I had large patches of inflamed scales below my chin (thankfully not eyelids this year), which truly went away in a day or so of multiple applications per day.I love the consistency of this particular cream. It has more of a gel-like feel even though it is opaque and spreads to coat the skin nicely without an oily feel. It looks beautiful and dewy under makeup or without, and I can’t feel I am wearing it. If you have skin problems I’d actually recommend staying away from oils.I’d say this cream is an improvement over the other Recovery cream I initially tried, which felt a bit greasier/more oily than this line.I do highly recommend the Extreme Cleansing lotion and the Thermal Water spray (it IS worth it) to keep the skin barrier extra clean and intact, and the Cicalfate line if you go outside or use air conditioning in your home. Even though I am an eczema sufferer I prefer the effectiveness of this cream over the Eczema-specific body cream, which I have also used on my face.BUY IT!

This cream is awesome- it comes out thick but it is not greasy and goes on smooth. And, it actually works. My skin is soft in the AM and hydrated! i like this much better than eltaMd daily. It is worth the price.

I have been using this face moisturizer for more than two years and I love it, I had change my skin for good, all other cream were so oily for my skin type but when I tried this one that I friend gifted me I was in love with it, I have combination skin and I like how it feel on my face, it sinks into my skin so good and doesn’t feel greasy at all. I think it’s a bit overpriced but overall it’s worth it :) I recommend it.

The product itself is good and really does help relieve dry patches on my skin that result from extended mask wearing. However the packaging is difficult. I could not get the top pump to work so I finally snapped a tiny hole in the bottom of the tube to get to the lotion. I love the lotion but absolutely hate the packaging. I would give the lotion itself five stars but the packaging alone zero stars. Highly recommend it but you may have to snap a hole to get to the product.

Love this cream! Perfect if you are undergoing treatment for acne and need something hydrating but non-oily and irritating. Makes your skin baby smooth and feels amazing going on! It's also quite thick but not greasy and gives you all day hydration! Will definitely be loyal to this product for many years. I would say it's worth the price.

I have extremely dry and sensitive skin. Red,blotchy patches and flakes can appear seemingly out of nowhere. I've tried loads of products,both natural/organic and conventional-too many to name,really.Many bottles and jars have been abandoned after a few days,dashing my hopes time after time. It's been going on for years. I now can highly recommend the Eau Thermale Avene line. After using it for probably six months,my skin is less reactive,softer,less prone to redness and peeling. Even when it's a bit inflamed,the cleansers,soap and moisturizers don't sting. The line isnt't cheap,but small amounts of product are sufficient. I believe it's money well-spent.

This was my first purchase of Avene. I ordered based on other reviews, for rosacea and dry skin.I found this "rich" formula too much for the summer. I have been known to use oil cleansers and moisturizers with high oil content, so that was something entirely new for me. I have never, ever found a moisturizer that was TOO hydrating, until now. I did notice a significant decrease in redness in the couple of weeks I used it (before I broke out, lol). I think it will be perfect for midwestern winters and have no problem hanging on to it until then. For now I am using the regular formula of this same moisturizer and getting the same benefits, just without the breakouts. I am a very fair skinned redhead and have been sensitive to many skin products. Nothing bothered me about either formula of this cream. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either product for dryness, sensitivities or rosacea.

This cream is a miracle for my partners red and sensitive skin - prone to allergies he’s tried every cream known to man including prescription creams , it is a revelation and we wouldn’t be without it now .

Uso questa crema nei periodi più freddi e devo dire che non ne ho mai trovata una migliore! Super idratante adatta anche per le pelli molto sensibili, la sconsiglio però a chi ha la pelle grassa o nel periodo estivo perché è veramente molto ricca.

Zuerst zu meinen Hauttyp: Ich habe leider eine total überempfindliche Haut, die mich schon bei kleinster Veränderung in die Schranken weist... ;( Egal welche Creme ich bis jetzt probierte, ich bekam immer Hautausschlag oder rote Pünktchen davon.Ich bin schon lange auf der Suche nach einer Gesichtscreme, welche für empfindliche Haut geeignet ist. Mit dieser Avene Creme hat meine lange Suche nun endlich ein Ende! :)Diese Creme ist sehr sensibel, angenehm schonend und sogar meiner total überempfindlichen Haut tut diese Creme nichts. Meine Haut verträgt sie einfach super und somit habe ich keine Probleme mehr. Diese Hautcreme ist nicht fettig und zieht somit auch relativ schnell ein. Sie enthält auch keine unnötigen Duftstoffe, somit riecht sie auch neutral.ABER: Es gab anscheinend eine Änderung im Rezept, die Creme riecht jetzt ganz leicht komisch, mir war zuvor der neutrale Geruch lieber. Und ich finde, dass sich die Creme jetzt ein bisschen schwerer auftragen lässt, da sie dickflüssiger geworden ist. Das beeinträchtigt aber die Creme an sich nicht.Ich kann diese Creme wirklich nur jedem empfehlen, der eine überempfindliche Haut hat, sie ist total verträglich und schonend zur Haut! :)
