Get This USB Bluetooth Adapter For Your Mac Pro Cheescutter Tower to Fix Your Bluetooth Issues
Ever since I bought my Mac Pro Cheesecutter Tower I've had issues with bluetooth strength from it's internal MB bluetooth antenna; it is a widely known problem. I've tried different external antenna connectors to the motherboard bluetooth output with mixed results. I eventually attached a bluetooth pad horizontal antenna in front of my trackpad, while working well for the trackpad and wireless keyboard, it only has a distance of maybe 6-8 ft. So my bluetooth Bose headphones would disconnect when I walked away from the workstation. This little inexpensive bluetooth USB adapter is plugged into the front of the tower and has fixed all my BT connection issues. I can walk across the house into a new room before it starts to break up. It works great with older MacOS's as I'm running 10.13.6 High Sierra. I used the instructions to install using the MacOS Terminal application, which was the easiest approach since it didn't require me to download Apples Bluetooth Utility application. Using the Terminal app for installation gives me a backup; should this USB bluetooth adapter have an issue and be removed, as the old MB antenna I left in place activates automatically. The whole process took 10 minutes to install and works perfectly.

Works with no fuss in my setup
Plugged it in to my old mac mini core 2 duo and it immediately worked. Didn't even have to restart. High Sierra OSX

In theory, should work…just not for me.
I purchased this adapter to use on my MacBook Pro that was having bluetooth issues. This one was recommended for use with Macs and had positive reviews, so I tried it. It arrived quickly and the website was very well put together explaining how to connect it. I plugged it in and followed everything exactly as stated. However, it did not work. I then followed all the troubleshooting tips and still nothing. I contacted customer support and documented every single step I took from plugging in the adapter to all the troubleshooting. I received a very thought out, technical response only asking “did you plug it in?”. I responded and highlighted the first sentence of my initial email that said “After I plugged it in” and asked if there was a solution. I waited 48 hours, heard nothing and returned the adapter. Very disappointed :-(

Great adapter for my application
I used this as a replacement for my motherboard bluetooth adapter in a mid 2012 edition of Macbook Pro. I have a 2019 Macbook Pro but the old one is still my favorite. It is running with Catalina OS and really can't upgrade the OS. The Catalina upgrade slowed it down a lot. Catalina has a quirk with the internal bluetooth adapter. Keeps disconnecting and no solutions work with the exception of using an external bluetooth. This works well and has greater distance.

It works!
I bought it for a 2010 Powerbook Pro 13 w/ Mac OS High Sierra. The laptop wasn't connecting to this mouse that I wanted to work with ( Logitech M720 ) because I can connect to 3 devices with one mouse by just the press of a button. I have to be on multiple computers. In the HP Laptop perfect, on the 2021 iPad Pro12.9 perfect but not on the powerbook, even with the mouse own's bluetooth USB receiver wont work. Also this mouse model is known for s..t like this. So with this dongle it solved the problem, no drivers and not having to reconnect when I start the powerbook. THE ONLY CON. Don't know if it is the mouse or dongle, when I switch to another device and go back to the powerbook, I have to shut off and on the bluetooth on it to reconnect. Am happy with my purchase.

Good alternative dongle for Mac Mini; used mainly for gaming
We use a 2018 Mac Mini for connecting multiple Xbox One controllers via Bluetooth. Due to limitations of the built in Bluetooth antenna design, it's hard to have a sit back on the chair/couch gaming room experience. Unless you're quite close to the Mac mini, the signal doesn't carry well enough to rely on. So, I saw this Hideez dongle suggested by someone on MacRumors and thought it was a low risk option. It's delivered in every way. We have the Hideez dongle plugged into a USB 3 hub which is then plugged into the USB A port on the back of the Mac Mini. The hub is also located on the top of the desk so there is a better line of sight. But now you can comfortably be 10-15 feet away from the Mac Mini and have multiple controllers firing simultaneously. One note: it does require a one time simple Terminal command on macOS to get the Mac to recognize this dongle as the controller. However, I found the instructions to do this surprisingly clear on their tech-support page. I usually have pretty low expectations for instructions from random third-party accessories. Once you enter the command and follow the instructions, which take about two minutes, you then re-pair your Bluetooth accessories to the dongle and then it just works. You see your Bluetooth accessories in the macOS Bluetooth system preferences area just like normal. Another Note: there is no way to permanently make this the primary controller. On a go forward basis, if you ever restart your Mac we have to just literally unplug the dongle for 2 seconds and plug it back in and the Mac recognizes it as the primary controller again. This is how it's designed. But it's a minor hassle in exchange for vastly improved Bluetooth range.

Excellent! 2 seconds!
After several failed attempts to resuscitate my iMac 2015 Bluetooth, I decided to try this option. So far, excellent. Real plug-and-play. Put the dongle in the Usb slot and the next message was that my keypad and keyboard were connected wirelessly. Will update if something changes but so far, 6 stars. Opening an iMac is not a good option. Update: Keyboard, keypad and mouse working fine. However, started noticing som lag. Not sure. Tried to connect iMac with AirPod Pro. Failed to connect. Tried Bose headsets, connected, but after a few seconds started in and out, choppy experience. If I can’t fix that, will Return it. Stand by. Going from 5 stars ton3 stars...

Works with Linux Mint
This works well with Linux Mint. You just need to open Bluetooth Manager to make the initial connection. It connects automatically after that.

Meine Rettung!

Simply does it’s job!
Got this as the internal Bluetooth of my Mac was faulty. Simply plug and use! Didn’t need to do any installation of any drivers, just plug into USB of my Mac and my Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse are auto connected back to be in use with my Mac.
