Great dock kit. Could use more installation details in the listing.
Pros: good quality kit and hardware. Decent instructions, although a lot of detail was unclear until the kit arrived, and some instructions were incomplete.I used trex on the top, with treated decking underneath. It ended up feeling very sturdy and it’s a nice addition to the pond.Cons: did not come with any method to secure the dock on the shore side, which was a surprise. I’d expect a basic stake or something. Oh well.Notes:If you’re cutting to the recommended 47” plank width, you have to remove one end of the frame’s bracket in order to slide in the last few boards. I like the longer length so the board ends don’t show though, so you’d want to be careful going much shorter. The frame’s top does cover the ends of the 47” planks which gives a clean finished look. The instructions also list 16 total 47” boards. It actually works out to 17 total. So I used 9 8-foot trex boards on top, and 3 treated 8-foot deck boards under the trex long ways.It was easiest to set the frame in the water/shore first and level things out, before loading it up with heavy wood and putting screws in. You’ll want to leave the shore side end bracket loose and remove it later in order to get the planks inserted when ready. The instructions did not list using 3 subfloor planks, they recommended using 2. I would strongly suggest using 3 planks of standard treated deck board, cut to the frame length which is not quite 8 feet. That way there’s no overhang on either end. This gave good stability and reduced flexing on the walkway. The instructions suggested screwing in the boards from the underside. With trex that isn’t going to work due to the ridges on the underside, so instead I screwed 1 5/8” inch deck screws from the top and that worked well, with nothing sharp poking through the bottom. As for securing it to the shore, I bought a 6 foot piece of 1 5/8” diameter galvanized chain link fence pipe and 2 top caps. I cut the pipe in half and pounded each 3’ section into the ground until only a few inches were above the frame. It may not work for everyone, but it did for my install. Be sure to use a wood block when sledgehammering, so as not to warp the metal end. If this method didn’t work I was going to look into some screw-in style ground anchors, which may also do fine. The fence pipe method helped with lateral stability too which was nice.Hopefully these details will help someone out there have a good experience. It was a fun project and even if you’re only a little bit handy you can get it done and have a great result. The best part is doing a cannonball into the water at the end!

Nice product bought 6 had them set up in 3 hours..
Easy to install.. would be nice if there was a end cap for end of dock. other then that pretty easy to set up. I used trex for the doc boards. The ends I also put on trex using one of those Square Stainless Tube strap 2"x2" , you can get them here at amazon.. You have to use a little bit less then a 1/2 filler piece. I cut the boards to 39.5 in. pre drilled the holes then attached 2 Tube strap at the botton with 5/16 bolt bent out the tube strap so I could slide it over the 2x 1 1/2 tube at the end of the dock. Then had to use a u clamp to bend it back into shape so the holes would line up then put on the nuts and washers. The pic of the bracket it just to show the bracket.. That piece of trex is my template

Solid Dock for Small Private Lake
We purchased five sections of MotoAlliance Aluminum Boat Dock Kit along with the composite Decking Kit. The photos speak for themselves. The five sections create a length of 24 feet. The end has two side sections for a total of 12' x 8', which is enough room to have two Adirondack chairs and still room for a kayak lift and storage solution, which will soon be added. We are very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of the dock. This was an affordable solution among some very expensive options.

Needs sturdier bolts with Stop Nuts
Very easy to install. I used decking boards and had to use 16 and 2/3's pieces of 4ft. planks. I did not leave a gap because of the decking being so wet. I cut the corners 1 1/2" by 1 3/4' of an inch to better accommodate the end piece. I also replaced all of the screws with bolts and stop nuts. I did not want to take a chance of the docks falling apart with all of the movement. Otherwise this is a good deal and very easy to assemble.

Work really well
These were easy to assemble and they are really sturdy. I'm on a river and within a few weeks they were completely under water. The river has since receded and they're still there!

Nice dock
This dock section compare to units double in price. Only down side is that no end caps are available leaving the ends looking unfinished. For the price I purchased an additional unit that I cut up and fit onto the ends to make it look really nice by drilling a few holes to hold the end pieces on to the dock. The only thing that I didn't care for is that the decking needs to be installed before setting the sections in to the water making it heavy to work with. Would really love it if the decking could be dropped in after setting the frame. Just to note I decked mine with PVC marine grade decking which is heavy. Using these dock sections saved me thousands of dollars and looks great. Wish they offered a selection of sizes, because one size doesn't always fit ones needs, and actually cut one in half to get a 12 ft section.

Weld broke at the post
We bought 2 sections for our gangway in July 0f 2023. We used it July through August and pulled it out of the lake for the winter. We put it back in in June 2024 and the weld on one of the sections just broke. I'm not sure if the other welds will hold up
