KAVU Switch Slinger Rope Pack Crossbody Rucksack - Ink Burst

I have bought other Kavu slings and returned them because the fabric was stiff, making the pockets difficult to access. When I saw this style had no rain flaps over the zippers, I gave it a try as I loved my Kavu purses.This will hold a water bottle, snacks, full sized wallet, keys, sunglasses, and sunscreen. I won’t load it with all that if I can help it, but I will roll up a light jacket to squeeze in that!Multiple choices on wear style - crossbody, shoulder, chest.So glad I gave it a try!

I've had this product 3 weeks and it's strings are coming undone. It's under the zipper for now the zipper and main threads are not coming apart. I wasn't expecting this to start doing this so soon after I got the purchase of this item

The good: this is pretty much my unicorn bag. Separate compartment fits an iPad air, has a top quick pocket for chapstick and phone, a back pocket for wallet (would have preferred internal). A front compartment that has a little extra depth perfect for a small organizer, kindle, folding bluetooth keyboard, power bank, small pen case, and field notes. Misc stuff like sunblock and sanitizer, keys. It's a nice balance between shapeless enough to fit odd shaped things and organized. Zipper placement is perfect, even at comfortably full it was easy to zip and access things inside. It's a great size, and the material is a nice weight. It fits perfectly to one side while I'm driving.The bad: the bottom clip tore out from the base of the bag after a week, the strap holding it on just pulled right out of the side seam somehow. Maybe wasn't sewn in deep enough. This was after very light use; I literally carried it to the car, did morning carpool (never left the car), carried it back inside, repeat for afternoon carpool. Fortunately a few strands hung on or my bag would have hit the ground.I could swap it to the other side and carry it always on the other shoulder, and I'm so tempted because I absolutely love this bag. But I can't trust the other side won't rip out too. And it was too expensive to "deal with".

I like that I can choose which shoulder I carry it on, but I prefer the shape of the regular Kavu bag. Surely the switch option could be done with the regular style bag.
