The songs are raw and heavy with a large emphasis on Uli John Roth's Hendrix-like lead work, Klaus Meine's powerful vocals and Rudolf Schenker's gift for writing memorable melodic riffs. Best of the early years
How this (vinyl) album rocked me through my college years. I believe I was the only one who had it in 1980. Mine has a different cover (scorpion on a woman's thigh). Scorps got no airplay then. This is a cult classic along with UFO's Strangers in the Night. Schenker Brothers Rock!

Not recommended SACD
Not the best compilation from what i know. Honestly, unlikely i will listen those again - who was making this selection ????Sound is OK but could be even better considering SACD.

Scorpionsが1979年（初版）にリリースしたベストアルバム。今回はそのアルバムがSACD盤（AFZ 266）としてAudio Fidelity社から発売されました。選曲は1974年2nd『 電撃の蠍団~フライ・トゥ・ザ・レインボウ 』から1曲、1975年3rd『 復讐の蠍団~イン・トランス 』から3曲、1976年4th『 狂熱の蠍団~ヴァージン・キラー 』から4曲、1977年5th『 暴虐の蠍団~テイクン・バイ・フォース(デラックス・エディション)(完全生産限定盤) 』から3曲の計11曲収録です。（ギタリストのUli Jon Rothが在籍時の作品ですね。）これを見ても分かる通りやはり初期の代表作は1976年4th『 狂熱の蠍団~ヴァージン・キラー 』でメンバーもファンも納得の事でしょう。そして今回はSACD盤と言う事でハイエンドな音質で鑑賞出来ます。音の密度が濃く厚みが増し、各パート楽器の輪郭が明確になりよりクリアーな音質となっています。そしてScorpionsと言えばスキャンダラスなアルバムジャケットが有名ですがその出発点は3rdアルバム（開脚姿勢で座り込んだ女性がギターを手にして喘ぐような表情）からとなっています。（欧米盤では差し替え、日本盤はオリジナルのまま） 電撃の蠍団~フライ・トゥ・ザ・レインボウ復讐の蠍団~イン・トランス狂熱の蠍団~ヴァージン・キラー暴虐の蠍団~テイクン・バイ・フォース(デラックス・エディション)(完全生産限定盤)狂熱の蠍団~ヴァージン・キラー

Excellent early Scorpions!!
Perfect vintage Scorpions - also proves Uli Jon Roth can actually sing and play guitar too...some absolute corkers here, my favourites are Hell Cat and Dark Lady. Buy it - shows the Scorpions in their slightly harder, grittier, rockier true colours before they became a bit more slick! Love it.
