Review: Good drainer - Very sturdy - In our previous kitchen we had an old-fashioned wooden draining rack above the sink, and I was determined to find an equivalent, but one which could be concealed within a kitchen cabinet when not in use. As you install the two “shelves” separately, you can decide for yourself how much height you want between them (although it is a good idea to leave enough space for a hand under the lower shelf to allow you to wipe the bottom of the cabinet, just in case of any stray drips. As can be seen in the photograph, I have taken to putting a teacloth on the bottom shelf of the cabinet, but frankly it is hardly necessary; the drip tray seems to catch pretty well everything. What impresses me is the sturdiness of the design. As can be seen from the photograph you can stack heavy dishes and cooking pots – the top rack even happily takes the weight of a full-size cast-iron casserole dish and lid. I have now been using this product for nearly a year and altogether I am very pleased with it. I don’t want to use it for wet crockery as I’m not sure how you’d keep the water from dripping out of the cupboard, perhaps some tray at the bottom.
