Super basic old school tech but a hoot!
Cons: - the s/w interface is ancient - no wifi or phone app & the controls are on the back! Ouch - so super awkward. Had to make a homemade dangling mechanism lol to reduce painful unwiring & taking it off the wall every flipping time you want to upload mp3 sounds, edit controls, change volume etc.So there's that - the world's most inconvenient design.Needs a specific USB cable c.10m long from bell box to your PC if wanting to avoid dismounting from wall. Also only 8 sounds allowed - pretty limited - and no random or cycle features - so real basic-----Pros: - it works - and for what it is it works well !The biggest factor is the quality & style of mp3s you load up - the more effort here the better it gets - but be prepared to spend hours wading thru mp3 sound effect libraries for your favoritesThe s/w does have a primitive loop editor to crop exact start & end of your mp3s - takes several goes as not precise - but this was invaluable.Once you've uploaded & edited the sounds the way you want - then have to remember to 'Sync' - which flashes it onto the unit itself - that's not entirely made clear - felt v old school. Where's my floppy disk lol.I didn't use them but has connection posts at the back for a transformerFinally cost - its an absolute bargainSo like 1970s/1980s tech - great for nerds, jokers, creatives & a hoot that makes a few smiles

OK but a little too basic in capability
For the price I suppose it`s OK - I wanted a wired bell for a change after getting sick and tired of changing wireless batteris and not knowing if the press button was working or not.All the other wired chimes were the standard ear splitting ding dong bell types - I wouldn`t have one of those again. The speaker is of terrible quality though - you will only be able to upload certain types of sound without it sounding very naff. The software (built-in) works just fine, very intuitive and very easy to use. It`s rather on the LARGE side !!! and would have done better with a 3.5mm jack plug instead of push in wires.I would likely spend a little more on a smaller and better sounding MP3 capable unit in the future.

Excellent (with the right software)
We needed a longer, louder signal instead of the normal 'Ding-dong'. This, with an MP3 download of a trumpet call, is perfect. The trumpet call we used was Alarm 2 from the disc of bugle calls by the professor of bugle calls at the Royal Marine School of Music, also available from Amazon. NB. The software is for Windows 7, for which it is perfect.

Plug and Play my ****
Connected it with the USB cable to my Windows 10 machine, and nothing happens. No device is detected as even connected. There's no software included with the unit as claimed either. Shame there's no mains PSU included. Ring volume very quiet, doesn't seem to be much more than circa 65dB and that makes it rather hard to hear unless you are right beside the thing. Tired of sales descriptions that just aren't truthful.

A disappointment from Siemens
I bought this because of the name Siemens, however on this occasion Siemens have let themselves down. The overall appearance is more like an industrial alarm box than a bell-box. Not very attractive for a hallway, but that was not my main concern for returning the unit. The unit is designed for the doorbell to be hard wired into the unit. As my house is new, the doorbell wire is buried within the wall. In order to replace the batteries, you have to take the whole unit off the wall which means disconnecting and disturbing the wires. Eventually the wires will break with constant movement. The second problem is it comes with pre-downloaded sounds, however to put your own mp3 sounds onto the unit, you first have to delete one of the pre-downloaded sounds. Finally, the sound is so low, (on full volume) that one needs to be already in the hall to hear it ring.

Nice and easy
Nice and easy to set up including adding our own choice of ringtones which delighted the kids, now they want to ring the bell every time they come back from school
