For LED bulbs there are two manufacturers that I prefer above all others: Philips and Osram. Both are more expensive than some of the other brands but they have never failed to deliver. I needed a bulb that was E27, not too bright and had to be externally dimmable.I cannot rate the longevity but the energy efficiency and the brightness are really good. It offers a warmer light that does well in a living room creating enough light that you are able to read a book during the evening.Comparing this bulb with others: there is no flickering when used with a dimmer; the previous LED bulb (not Osram or Philips - it came with the lamp) suffered from this.

Lovely quality of light and shadows come off this. Slowly putting into all my lamps.

These have proved to be very good. Clear white light and haven't failed yet after a couple of years' use. The design of the reflector greatly reduces the "white circle" pattern on the ceiling produced by older designs and the bulbs themselves are quite compact.

This bulb works perfectly with 3-stage touch dimmers often found in bedside lights (many which use the Hopestar LD-600/S type dimmer units in the base). No audible buzzing at low, medium or high light. Great warm light output equivalent to 60W. Perfect for bedside lights or ambient lighting. However, it is ridiculously expensive for a lightbulb (£8 Dec 2022) so it loses a star for that.
