Nintendo DS (NDS) replacement battery

Thank you so much, I had to replace an old battery to my original DS because it wouldn't charge properly. After buying this the DS works like a dream. Now I can play all my old games again! Packaging was very well protected and it came in fairly quick.

This product is for the original Nintendo DS, the big clunky one, NOT for any of the others. The other reviews that say this is not for the DSi, 3DS, etc, are correct, but their review (and ultimately bad rating) is based upon them not being able to read that it's for the ORIGINAL NDS, that is what it was called, the NDS, and everything else has a different name.You want a DS Lite battery? search for DSLite.You want a DSi battery? search for the DSi.If you are here looking for a battery for your big clunky DS you'll have just the right battery with this purchase. You don't even need to follow the review to clip off the protruding nubs, they are in the exact same spots as the old DS battery so they'll fit just fine if you don't try to just slam the battery in. Plus the battery even comes with a little screwdriver that fits the battery plate perfectly so you don't even need to worry about finding one.This product is great, it's nice to have a battery that actually plays for longer than an hour, since my old battery had lost a ton of capacity since I first got my DS nearly at launch.I give this 5 stars because it is EXACTLY the product described, came quickly in the mail, and does exactly what I wanted it to. It's people's stupidity that is causing this to have an unfair low rating and I feel bad for the manufacturer being blamed instead of people admitting they were wrong.

I ordered this for a friend, and the battery arrived a whole TWO days ahead of the window Amazon projected. That certainly was a pleasant surprise.It is work remembering that this battery is NOT a first party battery, but it is 100% compatible. We've found it works reliably, and while its fit is a tad snug compared to the original battery (it's about a sheet of paper's width thicker than the original battery) it wasn't a problem at all. Everything closed up well, and in the end, the battery performed as expected.

I purchased this battery for a DS (not DS Lite). It wouldn't fit when I tried to install it. After a little investigation, I found that there are two little "tabs" on the top of the battery that are supposed to match holes in the DS battery compartment. They didn't match on my unit. I cut the tabs off with a nail clipper and the battery went in and works perfectly. Hopefully, this tip will prevent some needless returns.

I recently bought my oldest daughter a new DSI so naturally i gave my youngest daughter her old ds. but the battery wouldn't hold a charge. After going to game stop and radio shack where they told me you can only get the battery from nintendo, I of course checked Amazon. Got the right battery (the second time) and I was off to the races. The battery works great,it's the same thing so why go elsewhere and pay more. Just check to make sure its for the right game system as I thought I was getting it for the DS lite but in fact it was for the regular DS! So read!

Yes, I still have Nintendos and they are great for taking out of the house and not worrying about how to replace them if they get lost, stolen or broken. These little games have saved my sanity on long car drives and office visits. Thank you replacement parts Nintendo sellers.

never knew i could buy these. i have the original DS and it finally died and when i bought this THEN CHARGED the new battery it worked good as new. plus this kit came with a small screw

At the time of purchase several years ago this did not fit the DS that it stated it would fit. They are fantastic at collecting dust in the plastic packaging though.
