Danger on Dolphin Island is an interesting, well imagined and well written choose-your-own-adventure type book. It's cheap enough, but in my opinion, it's not without it's flaws. The prospect of being on a volcanic island sounds pretty exciting (what attracted me to it in the first place), but in the end it proves to be little threat and in fact, there are no fail-states anywhere. A lot of the story threads repeat not only a lot of the same events but the same writing too and there aren't all that many choices to be had if you tally them up. Some of the dialogue seems strange and I'm not sure which audience the book is being aimed at. It's supposedly for 8-12 year olds, even though the word "piss" is used from time to time. All of the endings are inconclusive to some degree, as if half of the book was missing or as if there should be a sequel somewhere.

Delightful dolphin island!
It's a great children's mystery, with loving imagination. The descriptions of the characters were excellent and I really enjoyed reading it. The best part was following another mystery trail.

Young Person's book
I didn't really get into this but think would be ideal for a young adult or teenager
