Review: Second purchase, great value remote - I had the business end of my last remote shutter release drop into the Surrey Quays Dock, so no way I was ever getting that one back! I bought this as I had one previously and the trigger is moulded on to the cable - much more secure. It works exactly as it should, and an added benefit is that you can lock the shutter open, ideal for long exposures.

I have tested this with my Olympus OMD EM1 Mark ii and it works flawlessly. I can do things I can do with the main button on the camera. It allows half-pressing to focus and fully press the button to take the photo. It also allows locking the focus by sliding the button. the built quality is good but time will tell how long it will last.

While this made of fairly thin and flimsy plastic, it works. The button has a relatively clear and positive action that lets you distinguish between a half-press (to focus) or full press to fire the shutter. If you just want a cheap cable release for occasional tripod shots, this is not a bad option.
