Midori CL Slide Ruler Clear (6.3" L x 2.72" W)

As the title, photos, and description say, this is a slide RULER (caliper) not a slide rule. As the photos show, you use it to measure things. It has a vernier scale which allows you to measure with 0.1 mm resolution.It works well, and I use it to make various measurements.Unfortunately, several comments have incorrectly claimed it somehow deceptively or erroneously purports to be a 'slide rule'. That is not what the description or title say, and not what the photo shows.

Much more sturdy than I expected. Easy to use.

I didn't read the description carefully enough. It's just a plastic ruler with an added part that slides. As far as I can tell, the sliding part has no function. I was hoping it was a small slide rule. :(

Before calculators and watchs, this was it.Over the last several decades I lost the skills to use this, good entertainment.

Everything you could want in a slide roller

This item is advertised as a slide rule. It I s not a slide rule. It is a ruler with a slid I no Guage on but.

Really? It's just a little clear plastic ruler. For $7? I wanted a "slide rule." Returned it.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's when scientists and engineers routinely used "slide rules" for basic calculations. Calculators were not available. Although this product may be finely manufactured, it is not what was commonlyknown in those days as "a slide rule". It is a vernier caliper. It may be a good one, I don't know. I have not purchased one and do not intend to. I can see from the photographs that it is not a "slide rule". I feel sorry for the reviewer who claimed to have forgotten how to work it. It won't work as a slide rule because it is a caliper. Marketing it as a slide rule is borderline fraudulent among us older people. There may be no case because the definition of slide rule is probably not legally defined by statute.

厚みや幅を測るのに重宝してます。

商品名にあるように普通の定規では厚みの様な測定はしにくい。ノギスを使えばいいですが、簡易的なものがないかと思っていたらあったので購入しました。本当は黒地に白文字、白目盛の物が欲しかったのですが、何故か本体価格と同じ位の送料がかかる為、透明にしました。透明だと黒っぽい物を測ろうとすると文字が読めなくなるので避けたかった。しかし作りは意外としっかりしており、副尺もあり反対側にゼロ端の直定規目盛があるので、小学生の定規として使うと測定に関してもっと興味を持つようになるのではないかと思った。またノギスを使う前に知っていると、目盛の読み取り方と4つの測定法を一度に説明される戸惑いが無くなりノギスへの抵抗感が少なくなると感じた。副尺も0.1㎜を読み取れるように作られているのは文具としては優秀な製品であると言いたい。この精度なら厚みを測る以外にも使えると思う。

対象品は限定されますが、簡単な直径測定や厚み測定に使えます。

持ち運び用に購入。簡易測定として割り切れば問題はありません。ただ、金属製ではないので、スライドの滑らかさはありません。

目盛りをみるのに見にくいだけであとは何とか使えてます。均等の厚みのものはちゃんと図れます。
