YETI Hopper Portable Cooler

I think this is OK but maybe I was expecting miracles. With pre-cooling all the drinks and using the large 'official' yeti ice blocks it keeps things cold for 12 hours and cool for about 24 hours. It's better suited to short trips and handy for wine bottles for those trips away. I can see why it might last longer for countries where they use a lot of ice - but not something the UK does. Not our household anyway. With that said it's well made and stylish and feels premium compared to our old cheep old. If you want function, there are cheeper ones by half that would do the same job. With the yeti ice this is pretty much a £300 set up. Value for money. You decide.

My only complaint is the size. Because of the thickness of the insulation I had to get this one instead of the 8 and it's almost too big. I wish it was a little taller and narrower but that being said the build quality is absolutely top shelf and will probably be the last lunch box I ever buy. Also very easy to clean.

Outrageously expensive but works very well and is incredibly tough. We use it for travel in the car and it keeps things cold all day , even over night. We also strap it on top of our gear in the cargo bed of our side by side where it gets full sun and exposure to the elements. The surface can get hot to the touch but it does not transfer to the inside. We hose it and sometimes scrub it and it looks almost new. Highly recommend but you’ll have to take out a mortgage to pay for it.

Nice item for year round use.

There are some purchases that last a lifetime and are well worth the higher investment. This is certainly the top of the investment food chain when it comes to coolers. I have a couple of others and they are almost too well made. They are heavy and hard to move around, clunkie and made with a lot of material. I suppose this is why they hold temperature so well. The older coolers that I have are excellent and hold up well, but if when i look at those same brands, they are made vry different these days. This is why I switched to this brand, and am happy to have done so. Definately not the only option and certainly a premium investment but only you can decide if its the best choice for your uses.
