Seems expensive but fixed the problem.
The noise was annoying every time I shifted to reverse. It fit my 08 Jetta and took only seven screws and two nuts to replace. YouTube videos show you how to change it.

Quality Part From OE Supplier
The part I received was made by Behr (a large OE supplier, now part of Mahle) in China and replaced the original Valeo unit perfectly. Took care of the nasty grinding noise caused by a stripped plastic worm gear in the original. A surprisingly easy part to change on the Jetta.

Great piece, it was exactly what I needed and it fits into my 2008 VW GTI. I am so relieved to be able to fix this and get rid of that annoying buzzing sound! Be sure to check youtube for a tutorial on how to replace this part!

The motor arrived quickly. I watched a couple of YouTube vids for instructions on how to pop the glove box and motor. It was fairly straight forward, and no more grinding noises! Fit my '07 VW GTI perfectly.
