Review: Hifiman he 400/500/600 users please read for fitting instructions..... - Fantastic ear pads, lovely and plush and the quality is very good considering the price. Very comfortable and keeps your ear a nice distance from the driver without causing discomfort around the ears or causing loss in sound quality. These are a nod to the audeze type earpads. The thing about the hifiman is the earpads are circle , these are oval which means fitting is very hard. However , the final shape once attached to the earpads is oval and a perfect fit for your ear. I thought Id provide fitting instructions as these are quite difficult to fit. 1) remove plastic mounting rings from your old hifiman pads. 2) insert mounting ring into rear of the brainwave earpad, this will be a struggle. bend either side of the mounting ring so it makes a saddle shape, this will assist in getting the ring in the pad. Be sure to allow the lips of the leather oval to cover mounting ring clips (you can sort this later) (PIC1) 3) with one hand rotate earpad, with the index finger of the other hand , push down on the ring when inside the leather oval rim ensuring there is a clear indentation of the ring through the leather, about half a cm below rear stitching (PIC2) 4) (PIC3) gently pull back leather oval rim of the pads so they are 'hooked' inside each clip , with a flatsided screwdriver, ever so slightly pry the clip up. This gives you extra room to hook into the indent of the driver/cup.. 5) lets say each clip is a direction on a compass. hook in south clip to the headphone cup/driver while applying firm pressure on the south, ease in the west and eastern clip. While applying some pressure to those attempt to hook in the northern cip (a bit difficult). Then with the earpad secured in place rotate and gently lift up a little to feel for 'play'. Hopefully each clip is secured and there you have it..... (PIC5) all done!!! Review: Was it Worth buying them? To me yes it was... - Having just bought a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M40X's after reading load of reviews, most of which stated the the phones where good but could be enhanced further by changing the Earpads. So my quest started again in which i came across the Brainwavz Angled Pads, tad pricey but had good reviews so i took a punt and ordered some. Well 'm glad i did, they are over double the thickness at the back and about 1 1/2 times at the front (being Angled), the opening for your ears also is slightly larger and more of an oval shape that the stock pads and much softer. They was a bit of a faff fitting them but once on the fitted beautifully ,and a hell of a lot more comfortable over the stock pads. Now to the sound, i'm no audiophile far from it, but some reviewers had said they had "reduced the sound quality" I was quite the opposite i thought it improved it, before fitting both i tried stock pad on left and Brainwavz on right as a comparison, Apart from being a lot more comfier i didn't find any lost of volume and just seemed to have a bit more bass and crisper sound with the new pad. But sound is subjective everybody's ears and hearing ain't the same, to my personal experience i found a slight improvement in sound, and a hell of a lot more in the comfort. Hope this helps

Used on Logitech Pro X wired headset
I bought these due to how uncomfortable I found the stock earpads on the Pro X to be, these Brainwavz earpads fixed that issue. My ears are no longer pushed up against the drivers, which would give me earache within a few hours. The earpads themselves are okay in quality, they seem sturdy enough but the stitching lines aren't pretty, doesn't bother me too much though. Getting them on wasn't too difficult, some trimming was needed of course. For anyone who has a Pro X headset and is thinking of getting these, trimming along the imprinted line on the back should give you enough leeway to get them on (Picture 1 shows the guideline). I have also noticed that my ears are significantly less warm than they were with the stock earpads ( I used the pleather ones). One thing to note is that my earpads are slightly thinner at their thickest side than what is advertised. They are supposed to be 40mm but mines are 35mm. They do list in the description that a slight variation in thickness/size will happen but I was expecting 1-2 mm. Not a big difference for me but just so others are aware! (Last photo) The overall sound has stayed relatively the same with some changes. The bass is slightly more pronounced and clearer. I've noticed that I have better soundstage with these earpads on which is what I expected since they are deeper! (I will add a photo of my EQ preset to show what settings I use) Overall I'm pleased with these new earpads, they provide comfort and added benefits of a better soundstage and clearer bass. The only downside is the attention to the stitching and for this price, it should be far better.

Great alternative ear pads for Audioquest Nighthawk
Bought to replace stock microsuede or pleather ear pads on Audioquest Nighthawk headphones. A bit tricky to fit, you need to stretch the ear pads lip over the oval headphone ear pad mounting ring and then punch out four holes for the pins on the mounting ring (I used a leather punch tool). The effort is certainly worth it. Comfort is very good, and in my opinion audio quality is vastly improved compared to the stock pads. The elevated 100 - 500 Hz region is lowered significantly whilst sub bass is largely retained. This leads to a much cleaner sound signature with less muddiness and clearer mid range. Treble is more prominent, but still sweet without sibilance. The headphone is apparently much more resolving. In addition, soundstage is wider and imaging more three dimensional. A fantastic upgrade over stock Nighthawk ear pads.

Comfortable but not built to last
I bought the angled memory foam pleather ear pads to fit my Steelseries Arctis 7 headset. They fit the headset nicely, are very comfortable and provide decent noise isolation. However, after 9 months the pleather is peeling from the earpads. I emailed support to ask if this was normal and was told there was nothing they could do. Given the price point of these replacement pads, I'd have hoped they would last a bit longer.

It's almost 2:00pm on a hot Friday afternoon out in the country. When I got back from my bicycle ride at 10:00, my mailwoman was tossing these up on my front porch, about 34 hours after I ordered them from Amazon. Is that not incredible! And for free shipping? I put on a pot of coffee and tore into this package. I ordered these to replace the stock pads on a brand new set of HIFIMAN HE400s planar magnetic, open back headphones. There was nothing wrong with the stock pads. Based on personal experience installing Brainwavz and Dekoni earpads on several other headphones that I own, it's really a no brainer. I knew these would improve the sound in 95% of headphones with stock pads. Earpads attach to HIFIMAN headphones with a ring that clips into anchor slots. The ring is necessary and is permanently attached to the stock pads, so having not ordered a new ring from HIFIMAN and knowing that I would gladly sacrifice the stock pads for Brainwavz, I gently tore the ring away from the stock pad. The ring is perfectly round. The Brainwavz are oval, but recommended here on Amazon for this particular headphone. I've read where people struggle to stretch and bend this ring into these earpads and I did that at first, but there was so much tension on the ring that it kept popping out of the anchor slots. I looked around for a better solution. I searched YouTube and found this friendly guy struggling with the same challenge. He explained the difficulty fitting the round mounting ring into the oval shaped Brainwavz and offered an interesting solution. He took a sharp pair of scissors and trimmed the fore and aft sides of the mounting ring, cutting off a few equal millimeters of plastic on both sides, then slipped the ring into the new earpads. He then trimmed the rear of the earpads just enough to allow the male end of the attachment to be unencumbered by fabric, letting it click into the female part of this system. I got out my scissors and commenced to cutting. Mine turned out a little sloppy but once they were clipped into place, no one knows the difference. Now for the magic. I softly donned my HE400s and opened my TIDAL app. The first thing I noticed was that I could barely hear the air conditioning unit in my window. Huge difference from the stock pads. These are some of the most comfortable earpads I've used, and I've replaced pads on about 15 pair of headphones with the aforementioned pads. I love the memory foam, so isolation gets an A+. Comfort gets an easy A. I first dialed up Adele's Skyfall. Unbelievable! The bass response and the fullness of the orchestra blew me away. The fabric covering the drivers in the Brainwavz is thinner that the fabric that comes with the stock pads, thus letting the sound of cymbals etc.. to clearly reveal themselves like I've never heard on this already kickass set of headphones. Next I dialed in "One" by U2 with Mary J. Blige. Vocals remain basically unchanged (already excellent). The abundance of of sound was incredible. When Mullen thumped that bass drum... I could feel it. All of this is an improvement over the stock pads. I don't want to overemphasize the improvement on the low end of these headphones because I don't want to give the impression that they are now like basshead cans, they are not; but the enhancement to the lower frequencies is stunning. The bass is punchy, clear, fast and full, nothing like cloudy. A+ for sound improvement. These pads, in my subjective opinion allow for more clarity over the stock pads. I'm very happy with the results. Another thing to note is that this is the first pair of angled earpads that I've installed on any headphones. That in itself may be responsible for the dramatic enhancement in overall sound quality that I am experiencing. "Comforatbly Numb" is playing now. Wow! Keep in mind that installing these "Suitable For Large Over The Ear Headphones Like AKG, HIFIMAN Etc.." was a serious challenge, the resulting improvement in comfort and sound makes the struggle well worth the effort. I may have trimmed too much off of the back of my pads that might eventually lead to a failure, but if that happens, I'll buy some more just like these and be more careful during the modding process. I highly recommend these Brainwavz Angled Memory Foam earpads.

But thicker than the original, but does the job well. Expensive though.
