REMOVE the plastic sleeve/liner
The one thing you will not see is to REMOVE the plastic sleeve/liner if you are not using PEX. It is only required for PEX. You don't have to but you will lose flow since it restricts the opening. It just pulls out.

Leaks through the wall of the brass.
Hello, I have had this valve in place for about two seasons feeding my outdoor faucet and turn it off for the winter. I just opened the valve and there is a leak. The valve did not freeze as it is two feet into the heated house basement. The leak is NOT at any of the seams, but rather though the wall of the brass. It seems that the synthetic ball material is closing the leak in the off position, but when pivoted to the on it allows water to pass through a crack in the wall of the brass. It has to be a manufacturing defect.

Nice quality
Very easy to use and very good quality. Lead-free and OK for potable water. I use it as a shut off for my whole house filter. Works great. No leaks. Be sure to take out the plastic PEX reinforcement piece if you use PVC or copper. It serves no purpose other than to reinforce the pex tubing and actually cause flow problems and leaks.

Defective - Leaking
I have two of these installed for my water filters. One of them is working fine. However, the other one is leaking through the brass wall! I don't know how this is even possible. To be clear, the leak is not at a seem or at any connection point. It is leaking through the brass wall. It's a slow leak but a leak all the same. Another commenter had the exact same issue. Now I have to buy another one and replumb everything, which is a nightmare, because of a clear manufacturing defect. I've been a big fan of Shark Bites but this is hard to forgive.

Ease of installation
I had mistakenly believed it was 3/4” pex fittings on both ends but it needs another male end and pex connection. Otherwise, this is very easy to install. I will use pipe thread to connect the brass ends and it will work great. Shark bite makes plumbing easy.

I was amazed at how fast it went on with no leaks
Used this to connect to 3/4 copper main line coming from house to 3/4 inch threaded PVC running to irrigation system. I hadn't used SharkBite before, but didn't want to pay a handyman to sweat/solder a single fitting. I was amazed at how fast it went on with no leaks. I will buy other shark bite fittings If i need to do more plumbing work.

Easily attached to galvanized pipe, as well as PEX piping. A pleasure to install. I highly recommend. ps. no leaks.

Best option for longevity
Best option as compared to standard shiny shut off valve which will eventually leak or not shut off completely years on down the road.

Multifunction Headache saver!
I used this to install a new outdoor sill cock tap.Shark bite fitting pushes right on copper pipe (or Pex) without soldering and swivels like a union coupling.Threated valve end, screws right on to a sill cock.Valve can be used for a winter shutoff or future valve maintenance.Game changer.
