Was easy enough to install. Look rugged and durable.Once I installed it and placed the bike in place I attended to secure the bike in place and the hold down strap tor off. I did like the tailgate pad so I requested a replacement. The exact same thing happened when my grad-daughter attempted to secure her bike in place, the hold own strap once again tore off.Further; on the replacement unit the the clasp for the tailgate tie downs were installed backwards.

The one and only issue that I have with this product is that the manufacturer put no consideration into the different style of bikes being made at this time.I have four Trek Marlin 5 mountain bikes, pretty standard. The straps to hold the bikes in place are not long enough to secure the bike that ride on the inside and will only secure the outside bikes if I loosen th the outside tailgate strap so that the sides can be pulled up.

I bought this specifically for hauling one bike in a small truck. I didn't want a pad that would cover my camera or lights, and this works great. It's just big enough to fully protect the tailgate from the bike wheel. It's well made for the cost.

The straps that hold the bike upright were not sewn sturdily enough. If left too loose, bikes fall sideways, if tightened sufficiently--oops, they rip right out of the pad. Also did not fit well on angled shape of F150 tailgate.

I would not recommend this product!I was excited to get this soft tailgate bike transport pad. Looks good, easy installation and convenient storage compartment. Here’s where everything went south. The straps are not long enough to fit over the tube as designed. I have a road bike and not a mountain bike. It is supposed to be designed to fit a mountain bike which has more girth on the tube. The metal loop that you are supposed to feed the strap through to secure the bike ripped out as of it wasn’t sewn in.
