Garden Storage/Tool Locker - Stowaway Store - Cream Version

Bought this one and a bike store, in olive. They can be (very) tricky to put together.....thankfully my husband of 50 years reads and re-reads instructions! We had a few 'discusions' while putting them up! But once assembled they are solid/ secure and dry inside. They look smart as well. Love them!

I needed a fire resisting cabinet to be sited near to an oil tank, so wooden or plastic cabinets were ruled out. This is clearly a quality product and I would have awarded 5 Stars but for the problems that I encountered with the assembly process. I have undertaken many self assembly tasks over the years, and this rates as one of the most awkward. As per the instruction manual, this is definitely a job for two people at times - it is impossible for one person to handle some parts of the process or to tighten all the nuts and bolts. I also found it necessary to raise the assembled store on wooden blocks in order to access and fully tighten the nuts and bolts for the base. You will need a couple of small spanners and/or sockets (an adjustable spanner isn't always easy to use) and a couple of cross head screwdriver bits. Most of the process is relatively easy once you have read (and re-read) and understood the mainly pictorial instructions. However, connecting the tubular door mechanism was very difficult, even for two people - a bit like lining up tubular tent poles. After several attempts, we managed to line up a hole in one tube with a hole in another tube on one side of the door, and then insert a fixing bolt through both holes. Then repeat the task on the other side of the door.The dimensions given for the store in the sale particulars are external and these are virtually spot on. The door mechanism does protrude about 55mm on either side, so the actual external width of the cabinet body is reduced to more like 1270mm. The internal measurements (above the 75mm base) are: Rear H - 1000mm; Front H - 800mm; W - 1207mm*; D - 820mm. *The width of the cabinet is further reduced at the point where the door springs are located - to about 1120mm. The wooden floor panel is 1207mm x 808mm.I would recommend this cabinet to others if you must have a metal cabinet, but be prepared for parts of the assembly process to be quite tricky.
