Sturdy and strong
So far, this mat has held up better than the last one. We use it under our treadmill and the last one ended up with two holes in it.

Great product.
This treadmill is amazing. It has everything I expected. Works well it’s not loud. Keep track of my calories. Elevation is great overall very happy with the treadmill.

Better than foam
Tougher than the foam puzzle pieces. A bit tougher to unpackage, though, as the ends tend to roll, so weight will need to be placed towards the edges to ease them. While a lesser gauge than the typical foam, this is a sturdy material that has no issue protecting my laminate floor from my fan resistance bike.I would keep this mat for the equipment because the foam tiles feel better under foot.No weird smells or issues noted.

Good first impression. Too soon to tell, but this might work for my rowing machine.
Problem with exercising at home is sweat and wear on carpeting. I'm using this with a rowing machine that wobbles a bit in use, and definitely wears away at carpeting. That's why it got banished to the garage where it really wobbles due to an uneven floor. Previously tried using camping ground pads with limited success. The machine does sink into the mat which helps with the wobbling. The mat doesn't quite sit flat on the carpet though that appears to be because of friction against the carpet and because it was rolled up tightly for shipment. Should relax and fully flatten with time. There's still more movement than I like which raises concerns for the carpet and for the durability of the mat. Haven't tried washing the mat as will become necessary in time because of sweat. The problem might be with my rowing machine. It sits on legs instead of bars which would distribute the weight more evenly. In any case, the main concerns of carpet wear and mat durability can only be determined over time. First impression, however, is that this may be the solution to moving my rower out of the garage.

Standard Mat
We picked this up for under our treadmill. This arrives rolled up as pictured. It unrolls nicely since the top of the mat is out. When layed out, any curl is downward. The material is decently thick and it's similar to other mats we've had in the past. It feels like a rubbery foam: vinyl maybe? There is little to no odor.If you have hard floors you want to protect, this should work fine. This will not work well in carpet, however because it'll deform.
