I made a deep dish apple pie, these helped my crust perfect!

Does what it says. I really bought to clean put big jars to deep for a brush. Jut swish them around in soapy water. But they're great for pies too.

These weights are sufficient to fill a 9-inch pie plate up to the normal fill line for a pie. This means there is little room for the pastry to puff up or slide down the sides of the pan. The weights can be tipped out of the pan without damaging the crust. (I use parchment paper between the weights and the crust itself so there is no danger of the weights sticking in the dough). After they cooled, I rinsed them in water but there wasn't anything on them to wash off. You have to spread them out to dry, though, as they are rough ceramic and tend to hold the water a bit.

I washed and dried them to get the ceramic dust off and cleaned the containers. Each container is truly filled to the top. Well packaged. I had none that were broken. I bought four. That's two pies filled. You could do less with two sets I suppose. I'll try it both ways. I'm happy with them!

I put these in the bottom of my crock pots and roasters and it creates just enough of an air pocket that the food doesn't stick or burn. They are very versatile and hold the heat well, that's why I bought two sets!

These came full of dust. After washing them with Dawn dish soap they are left with a sticky feel. I would not be comfortable using these for baking. The worst part is the are non returnable so do not make the same mistake as I.
