Astonishing collection of poems
Plath is one of my favourite poets. I have idolised her and her work since I was a teenager. Excuse me with I have a fan-girl moment. Plath made me want to write poetry.Ariel, her last hurrah is an amazing collection of poetry. It contains some of her best work and some of my favourite pieces.I love how diverse the poems are in Ariel, the perfect blend of light and dark. The poems are rich in detail, vivid and at times, haunting.I loved all of the poems but my favourites were The Applicant, Lady Lazarus, Cut, Death & Co and Daddy. Of these Daddy is the best. Daddy may be one of the best poems ever written.

Very interesting and enticing
This collection of poems by Sylvia Plath was a great read. I have been studying her for English Literature and her back story is very unusual and quite deranged. Her poems present the feelings she may have been feeling as she was struggling with her mental health.

It's Sylvia Plath's Ariel.
It is Sylvia Plath's Ariel which is about as much as I can say having been blown away by it. It's like being punched or stabbed (in a good way) by every image.

Powerful and Haunting
I had never read this collection the whole way through, but then I saw a documentary on Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath so I decided to by a copy. This edition is a beautifully designed hardback. It is very sad reading these poems with the knowledge of what was to come for Plath, but she is a very powerful and haunting writer. Definitely a poetry collection to put on your to-read list if you haven't read them already.

Not what Sylvia Plath intended
You get the impression from the blurb that it’s the arrangement that Plath wanted but was disappointed to find out that it was the one done by Ted Hughes after her death

Powerful
Beautiful and haunting but there are surprising moments of joy and hope. Apparently it was meant to end with the ‘wintering’ triology until Ted rearranged it. Overall it is just essential poetry for anyone vaguely interested into the subject. She was brilliant and unique and unrivalled.

Sylvia Plath is a highly acclaimed author
Sylvia Plath’s poetry shows her plight and short life in dealing with her possible illness and hospitalizations and men in her life who affected her as a girl, wife, and mother.

A very insightful read about the author’s life in poetry format
I want more ...It is a collection of forty three poems written during several stages of the author’s life reflecting her thoughts on her life and people around her. It also talks about the author’s mental health and the other health conditions. My most favourite in this collection is a poem titled ‘Tulips’. It’s so different and unique. It spoke to me the most and I saw myself thriving in between the lines of this poem.I feel this collection is not for everyone specially the young readers and the beginners. They might find it rather difficult to interpret or may find most of the poems too dark.I would suggest you to read her other book ‘Bell Jar’ if you want to read Sylvia Plath. Now both these books mean a lot to me.Some poems get overwhelming because they have revealed myself to me.
