Outset Stainless Steel Whiskey Stone Set, 6 Ammo Shaped with Case

I was ecstatic to try these out, to see how our poker friends would react to a silver bullet in their drinks. Conversations started out with how cool looking they were to how cold they actually were, to our second amendment, to discussing gun clubs to finally ending the night with how nice they would be as gifts. A month later, our neighbor and his son got them as Groomsmen gift for the upcoming wedding.I was initially surprised by their weight, heavy duty. I thought they would be light with a liquid core, but I was wrong. In my photos I compare the size of these silver chillers to a 5.56 & .50 BMG. They are a good size, and a great conversation piece. It's been more than two months now and they are not showing any signs of discoloration or wear, so I am thinking these are surgical steel.

These might be a good way to start a conversation or to have a laugh but cooling down your drink by much isn’t going to happen. The stainless steel bullets don’t have enough mass to cool much of anything. They are at least partly hollow. If they had been solid stainless steel they might have worked much better. If you use all 6 in one drink and only pour a 2 ounce whiskey it does drop the drink temperature a little, but doesn’t keep it there for any length of time. These are fun, I will give them that much credit.

I received this item free as an Amazon Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only review items I will actually use, and use I do, prior to writing a review.I don’t always drink my Bourbon or Scotch chilled, but once in awhile I like certain ones that way. I have used large ice balls or large cubes to try and get a chilled drink, but you still get the dilution that the melting ice causes. I saw these Stainless Steel Whiskey Chillers and thought I would see if they provided the chilling effect of ice without the watering down effect caused as the ice melts.Let’s start with the packaging. The outer box is nicely printed, looks sharp and is suitable for gifting (pictured). Where this kit gets really cool, is when you open the box up. Inside is a little ammo can (pictured) that once opened reveals 6 bullet shaped stainless steel chillers (pictured). They are a decent size (pictured), small enough to fit in a glass and big enough to hold a chill for a decent about of time.I popped these, ammo can and all, into the freezer for 24 hours and gave them a try. Will this replace an ice cube? No. But the trade off of getting a cooler drink without the watered down effect of ice is worth it, in my opinion.As I do at the end of all my reviews, I ask myself if I would actually purchase this item. Yes, with the looks, cool case, neat design, and function I would buy these.

These are excellent to keep your whiskey or whisky chilled while drinking. Their main benefit is that they do not melt and water down your drink, however, in my experience they do not seem to last as long as ice, meaning they warm back to the temperature of the beverage a big faster than ice melts. They are also interesting conversation starters--or political fight starters, depending on your drinking companion.

Yes, these really work. Like any of the other chillers they keep your drink cool without watering the contents down.And yes, they look like what they look like. Honestly these are really fun to pull out just to watch people's expressions the first time you hand them a drink. Novelty chillers like this are fun to have around for just the right time. You never know what you might get.I also like that these are dishwasher safe. I admit that I mostly just rinse them off after use but it's nice to have the option to clean them up extra well every once in a while.

These were ordered for fun purpose mostly and do their job in starting the talks. These are nicely build and come in nice box. These are heavy so make sure not to drop in the glass as it may break the glass, try to put in gently.

The look and quality of these ice chillers are really nice and did not disappoint. However, they don't chill even remotely as much as an ice cube would. This product would be nice for pre-chilled drinks, but I can't honestly recommend these as a replacement to ice cubes/balls.

so, these things are definitely not as effective as just a simple ice ball, or even ice cubes. there's just a limited amount of thermal mass to them, so they drop the drink's temperature down, but then doesn't do much to keep it down.efficacy aside though, I think this really excels at being a conversation starter.nothing like walking into a group holding a drink featuring some bullets tinking around in the glass!the included case is cute, but nothing to brag about, it's plasticky and probably would not survive more than a couple falls from the pocket, if portability was ever a concern.bottom line, if you're looking for something to really give you that whiskey rock experience, these are probably not going to be that great for it, however, as a novelty / conversation starter, it's quite excellent.

I bought these as a stocking stuffer for my boyfriend and they did not disappoint!He loves the size and weight, they cool down quickly and are a perfect addition to a whiskey collection.

These look really cool but don't do much to actually chill or keep a drink chilled.
